Does anyone think it's a coincidence that Boston was just ranked the hardest drinking city in America (Again) and Massachusetts looks like a bottle opener?

It can sound weird but it is true- Stella Artois makes me depressed. It didn't for few years, then I noticed it. I tried it again and got the same effect. It was one of my favorite but now I have to stay away from it.[/url]

It was free. And its pretty good for being from a can instead of my blender.

A margarita is unworthy of the name unless it is made with real lime juice, triple sec, and decent tequila, and served "up" in a real margarita glass with salt.

... even if yours was free.

Well, I did at least put it in a proper margarita glass (though I never do salt.)
But, yeah. I wouldn't pay money for it.

Just opened a bottle of Evan Williams single barrel vintage bourbon. Selected by the proprietor of our local wine shop.

I love that bourbon!

NONE!!! Nothing at all all last week and this weekend, I have no clue why. I lost my drinking mojo.

Tonight it is "Wild Betty," a mead produced by Summerside vineyards, on Historic Route 66 in Vinita, Oklahoma.

I've never heard 'mead' and 'Oklahoma' in the same sentence before. I just looked at the Summerside site. The Wild Betty sounds like a nice one.

I just opened a bottle of Smoking Wood, a smoked rye porter aged in rye whiskey barrels from The Bruery. It's got nice peaty flavors like a good Scotch. At 13% ABV it's also gonna kick my ass.

Had some Saber Toothed Squirrel tonight, bit too hoppy but by the second quart it didn't matter.

Saber Toothed Squirrel? What happend to proper beer names like Schlitz, Blatz, Pabst and Meister Brau?

I wanna go on a champagne picnic. Looking for miniature bottles as we speak since my alcohol allowance is down to the ounces and no longer the full size real deal.

I wasn't feeling the bourbon tonight, so I'm having some Sandeman 20 year old port.

I have an unopened bottle of Taylor Fladgate 20 year as well, but having burned through the last bottle in record time, I'm trying not to open the new one just yet.

I might head back to the San Jose Beer Market in San Pedro Square Marketplace tonight. Stopped there after a hockey game Thursday. It's a couple really knowledgeable beer dudes with glass-front fridges and a bazillion varieties of microbrew and exotic makes - Belgian Trappist, IPAs, everything else. They say taps are coming soon. Been open four days now. It's in the annex near Treatbot, if you're headed there.

I posted to the wrong thread once, maybe I can get this in the right place. The label was designed by my son's s. o., the beer inside was the pale ale we brewed in February. We have been drinking this and Guinness all winter, since our Costco has had Guinness for 1$ a 15.9 oz "pint" for the last few weeks.

A truly yummy, new to me hefeweizen .. Feral Brewing White - I drank it on tap ... the bottle is their most boring ever bottle but the beer was dancin' all round my mouth ... sadly could only have one coz I was taking a pillion on the GTS .. on a sunny Sydney autumn Sunday, in a pub by the old docks at Balmain .. those are the dasy I love my Vespa most!

Sodastream and 1 fresh squeezed lime pint glass with shaved ice. Seems a desert country does the best soda makers and plant irrigation systems. If your tap water is chlorinated, add a 1/8 teaspoon of ascorbic acid and it will blow off the chlorine instantly.

Just got in from 12 + hours flying, so I had one Sierra Nevada Pale Ale with a light supper. I need sleep. The Picos de los Pirineos Rally was a wild success, I'm waiting for Todd to post the photo of me being scolded by a Japanese tour guide during the farewell dinner. Apparently, elderly Japanese tourists have little appreciation for the enthusiasm with which the members of Vespa Club del Mediterraneo celebrate their final meal as a group.

I recently discovered Bushmill's Irish Honey (sounds like someone's mistress in South Boston). It is a lovely drink, sweet and smooth, and my only complaint is, they don't have it in a 1.75-liter bottle!

Went out with Maria from the Cannonball and we had Chattanooga Whiskey with some kind of habanero ginger beer that was lovely and then beer from Big River Brewery at the Nightfall Concert. GREAT evening .
