After years of admittedly half hearted attempts to get in an MSF class, I finally found one that I could get in while home. Given my work and travel, there was no way I could book it 3 weeks out. I enjoyed the class and my first experience on a motorcycle. Passed the course and was evaluated quite well Was nervous about shifting since I'm used too shifting on the handle bar or twist and go. Was gonna use the P200, so glad I didn't or I would have failed every braking exercise and evaluation miserably. The BV has busted variator fins, so no big trips for it. I certainly do not condone riding so long with out the endorsement (400,000 people in FL do). So here I come clean, but am so happy Iv'e finally got it.

When I did my motorcycle safety course a couple of years ago, over half the participants were people who had been riding for a long time without a motorcycle license. Seems to be a widespread phenomenon.

Congratulations.

Thanks ! It was the same way in my class, half the people rode their bikes to the class, I took my truck. Now its time for insurance too.

Congratulations! It must be nice to have that done.

My classmates were complete newbies other than the 2 of us that had been riding 50s. WA subsidizes the course, so not sure if that helps.

Ha! In my class, the most noticeable group, apart from the guys who had been riding illegally for years and had decided to legitimise themselves, was a couple of teenagers who had been riding dirt/off road bikes forever and made the rest of us look ridiculous They were doing the course to reduce insurance cost and probation time. Their riding skills, to use the current vernacular, were awesome.
