The Leo Vince website (USA) lists a "Vintage" style exhaust for the GT200, model #3415.

Has anyone actually installed one of these on a GT200, and if so, can you provide some feedback? I can't find any postings on MV regarding this model. I would be interested in hearing about loudness, installation, performance, problems, etc...

It looks like it may use the same (problematic) graphite bushing that the OEM exhaust uses (see the "Boccola in Grafite" in the diagram below).

Typically an upjet is required when moving to an aftermarket pipe on a carbureted engine, to keep from running too lean, and therefore too hot.

The graphite exhaust collar isnt as big a concern on the GT200L as it up the range, but it is and always will be a concern item.

Tht said, if I went to an aftermarket exhaust, I'd be extra diligent in regards to the exhaust packing even if Ive made adjustments to the mixture.

Thanks gogogordy. I was kind of hoping someone had already installed one of these on a GT200L, so that I wouldn't have to be the test subject and figure out all the details!

I guess this is a relatively new exhaust from Leo Vince?

ScooterWest isn't carrying the GT200 version of the LV "Vintage" exhaust (which also fits the GT125). They don't have any on order, so I guess they aren't planning to stock it anytime soon. They do carry the GTS250/300 version:

I had my eye on that great $299 deal for the Leo Vince 4-Road exhaust ScooterWest had going for a while there, but wouldn't you know it, just when I got to the point of seriously considering a purchase (inspired by the graphite bushing crapping out on my stock exhaust, again), their price went up to $399.

I found the new GT200 LV Vintage Exhaust online for as low as $350 with free shipping, so the current ScooterWest $399 price for the 4-Road is even less compelling.

The 4-Road seems to get generally good reviews, and does away with the graphite bushing (yay!), but now I'm curious about how well the LV Vintage exhaust stacks up. If it does use the same bushing, that is a minus, but if performance improves without excessive loudness, that is a plus. I assume it is a lot lighter than the stock exhaust, which is also a plus.

The owner here runs the Vintage on his 300 and loves it. It's the quietest of the performance exhausts available, just slightly louder than stock. Performance boosts were slight, but noticeable. I would go for it if you like the look of it.

The 4-road is a slightly better performer.

I think the graphite bushing is good for exhaust longevity. It allows a little flex in the system which will keep you from breaking header pipes. I like them, and if you're careful with them, they can be re-used.

Weight on a stock pipe is about 13lbs.
The 4-road comes in about 11 lbs.
The Vintage is about 12.

Upjetting from a 92 to a 95 would help your performance gains slightly and help the motor run a little cooler, but is not necessary.

If you really want the 4-road, you should buy it from somewhere soon because they will soon be off the shelves forever.

The Vintage sounds good for me in terms of loudness, and although a little more performance is always welcome, I'm not looking to break any speed records. This is good!

The weight differences are not as huge as I had thought after exhaustively (sorry, no pun intended) reading posts on MV about the 4-Road. I had figured that perhaps the lighter exhaust might offset the need for the flexibility offered by the graphite bushing. But I can't imagine one or two lbs making that much of a difference.

Good to know!

I actually like the style of the Vintage over the 4-Road (especially since LV added that black stripe across the middle of the 4-Road). The Vintage looks kind of funky, but in a good way. The motivation to buy a 4-Road came primarily from the super-discounted price you folks were offering for a while (before it became a "rarity"), the lack of other quiet-ish performance exhaust options out there, and the decent reviews.

Thanks again, and please consider carrying the Vintage for the GT200, especially if you can offer it at a price-point similar to what I've found online, at around $350 (with free shipping!).

LV Vintage
Put one on my GTS. Easy install. Lost a little off the line. With stock, got whiplash taking off from every light (heavily modified-ie. 4V head,271 kit, etc.) Don't get that now, but do get smooooth pull beyond 70mph. One thread in here had a dino comparison. 4Road had higher peak, but fell off with increased revs. Vintage had lower peak, but stayed nearly flat thru the power band. Gas mileage had dropped to about 58mpg from 63 after putting on the new head. After getting the Vintage 3,000miles ago, do 64mpg.
