So every year we have a big wave contest (20ft or greater) called the Eddie. Named after Eddie Aikau a surfer and lifeguard out at Waimea. Lost his life when the Hawaiian boat (recreation of an old outrigger) had trouble and instead of staying with it he tried to swim to shore and didn't make it. You have to be invited to do contest. So the place is packed and lots of years they won't allow MC'S but always scooters.

So yesterday i went.. Got right in but as i was trying to find a good place to park this little boy (about 8) runs up with his camera and asks if he can take a pic of the scoot. 8) I let him and then i got out of the way, put it on the center stand and let him sit on it (even threw my Ruby helmet on him) and took his pic. Never seen a kid so happy. I betcha he's already asking for one.

I did give him the "don't get on anybodies bike without asking" speech. So it was a fun day. The Kahunas ( like priests) did their blessing and all the invitees got in a circle with their boards. I missed the paddle out where they lay leis in the water. It looked like it was going to pour and i wanted to be home before it did. Eddie's parents are cool people. Also almost ran over our Mayor.
Dumbass wasn't looking where he was going and since i don't like him it might have been fun but i wouldn't want to hurt poor Leo. Here's a few pics and FROG there's one of your homeboy, just for you.

I liked him better with hair and with a little more meat on his bones. He looks sick to me. It's only run 8 times in 25yrs. Hope it goes this year. So awesome to see the guys ride the monster waves. 8)
