Maybe I shouldn't have made such comitments to make something at the start of the coldest part of the year. I don't like working when the garage is below 40f. Anyhoo, we had a couple warm days here and I knocked out two prototypes. One for 8 inch and one for 10 inch wheels. I need a couple volunteers to test them and suggest improvements. My P200 has a side car so I could not test the 10 incher but I took some pictures of the 8 inch on my VBA. I found that the easiest method was to put it on the center stand, loosen the lug nuts, position the rear stand as shown and drag the bike backward until tthe rear wheel is elevated. You might have a better method. I will send out these first two two to two different people who agree to test them and report back for the price of shipping. Who's interested?
Looking good! Sign me up. Will PM my info.

The price will be $15 plus shipping if I can get about 20 requests. It will be a few weeks until I get reports and reviews back and I build up a few orders.

Hey Matthew, since I only have a sidestand I sadly won't be buying one, but just wanted to say that they look really nice. I am sure you will get 20 takers for sure. Maybe since this thread started off as a roadside tire change thread, a new thread would help get your design out there to those who may not have seen this thread. Something like astromags Tshirt order threads. Thanks for contributing your time and effort, and best of luck with these!

Agree that the best way to solicit orders would be to post a new thread (possibly after the prototype reviews are in and you have the design finalized).

Razz emoticon Nahh the last time I had to change the rear tire I had 2 buddies lift the back while I put the spare on... if I didn't have a spare and had to change a tube or didn't have bros.. I suppose I'd lay it down... I shudder at the thought! I'd hope I was near a herd of sheep so I could rustle one, subdue him and lay the bike on his soft fluffy coat!
Print a copy and scotch tape it to the cowl.
Warning: I suggest you keep the sheep away if you try it my way.

The resopnse started a little slow but I came in this morning to about 6-8 firm orders with promises for more so it looks like I'm going into full production. I'm doing this partly as a favor to you guys. I plan to make a littrle profit but not much. Having said that I think I am going to have to bump the price to $20 to cover packaging cost. The steel costs about $5. I think the design is fine but In want to be sure and it's still too cold to be working in the garage. I will start a new astromags style thread when I'm ready to procede in ernest. If you send me a PM I will record your user name and when the time comes I will get your paypal and shipping addresses. Let me know if you want to do payment another way.

Edit: When you PM me tell me what size you need. If you order more than one because you need both, you want to keep one in more than one scoot or you want to give one to a friend I will charge only the actual shipping charge.

Also we need to come up with a common name to call it. I've heard things like jack, engine stand, engine jack, jack stand, tire change stand and others none of those sound right or elegant.

Just letting everyone know that I'm still on track. I'm waiting for reviews and suggestions to come back from the protypes. I estimate two weeke after the design has been finilized I will be shipping. The price will be $25 including shipping to the US. Overseas will be $20 plus the actual cost to me for shipping. First in my PM box will be first served. I will start another thread when I am ready to go.

Vintage Red Matthew,
Did you ever come up with a name for what you will be calling them? Would be more than happy to design a little logo, print them out to stickers, and ship them to you for free. Would be cool just to be a part of it. If not, that is cool too. Just throwing it out there.

WP2, I like the idea of the stickers. I'll think about a design and send you a PM. For a name I have settled on "The Stand".
