This weekend...
Prepping some stuff that will go into storage during renovation. Rental unit that will serve as temporary residence for 6 - 8 weeks has work being done prior to us moving in and proceeding quite well. Contractor been keeping me in the loop with pics of flooring prep. Since I attended a Cement 101 seminar (more on flooring prep of pre-existing cement floors prior to laying flooring), he figured I'd be interested in progress. Some may find this boring...however there may be a few amongst MV who may find it interesting or in the trade.

Should start move in during first week of March with renovation at residence ~ 3rd week March.

Aside from the prepping, we also have to make sure we have things set up for the kitties to minimize trauma of temporary move...believe we have that covered. This will be interesting!

Finally, work on tax prep for appointment...this should not be too difficult. Filing is not the issue...keeping on top of the ever changing tax laws and implementing a good strategy to maximize investments and minimize tax liablity is!

Living room prep. Leveling and covering up any imperfections.

Kitchen and detailed work under cabinet (toe kick).

Base board installation and waterproof underlayment (waterproof and sound insulation between tile and floor).

Perhaps spending the weekend in shame.

Pondering why I did not select a cooler screen name like the new person "Courious Rash"

Weekend started with a midnight run Fri night / Sat morning along some pitch dark highways to a little town called Kulai about 40 km away - for something called nasi lemak. It is a dish made up of fragrant rice, a piece of fried chicken, an egg, cucumber and chili. As usual, food, ride and company was tremendous.

Have a good weekend MV

We just toured a house that's about 98% perfect for us. Nice neighborhood. Backs up to 1/4 mile of woods. Lots of updates. Lots of remodeling potential, should we choose. Insanely huge basement that's ready to be converted to anything with hardly any work at all.

So Dan and I are crunching the numbers as hard as we possibly can. We want this house!

zeri o: Looks like a fun ride! Even more so because it's stinkin' cold here yet...

Witch: Good luck on the house. Sounds very nice!

As for me, today going to an international festival in our small city. It's to celebrate awareness of diversity in the community, and it's a project-firstly finding enough diversity to show off, though I am impressed, but also to "educate" a community that considers itself welcoming and progressive but still at times complains about what it's various minorities are doing here. A while back the idea of involving a LGBTG group into a diversity effort threw a bunch of people into a tizzy, like somehow they didn't exist here. Anyway, it's fun, great food and dancing.

After that it's full-tilt panic mode as I have to finish some administrative work at the office AND prepare my taxes before our departure for Mexico next weekend. Somehow procrastination no longer is an option

This morning I'm brewing a batch of beer for my wife - a dunkelweizen with pecans and peaches added. No idea what the rest of the day will bring once that's wrapped up.

At some point over the next couple of days I'm hopefully going to do the belt and roller change that my scooter needs before my IB ride this spring. I need to get it done before the weather starts to warm up and I find myself spending all of my free time in the yard and garden.

Yesterday it was in the 60s and this morning it's snowing. I wish I'd done a bit of riding while it was nice out.

Good Luck! Please have it inspected by someone certified to do so...there could be issues that you want to address prior to taking possession, conditions that need to be remedied via a "punch list". This should not get in the way of consumating the deal...just to protect both Buyer and Seller.

Thanks. This will be Dan's 3rd house purchase, and the 2nd one with me around. Don't worry, we know the proper process, and all the things that should be done will be. We're both excited, and actually made an official offer on the house today!

The only thing that sucks is the buying process itself. Hopefully it won't be nearly as painful as the previous one that was a crazy "short sale." At least moving shouldn't be nearly as tough. It's only 3 miles away from where we're currently at, and we've got local friends and family already volunteering to help out.

The house has a painted garage floor, and it's very nicely done. Dan has already informed me that the Vespa will be getting a parking mat. 8)

Shoveling snow. *sigh*

...and making plans for touring when the weather warms.

Oh, such plans I will make.
