Starting the thread early today in case I have a heart attack shoveling snow. 10-15 inches maybe. Work texted me to show up an hour late but today is a short day for me anyway. After a few texts It's officially a snow day for me. Now what did I do with my Crayons?

105 degrees today. That's now about 8 days in a row over 90. Still another week of it to come apparently.
To make matters worse I'm off to a wedding tomorrow and I have to wear a suit and bloody tie. Ahhhhhh |

Just moving stuff...
"Soft Move" into temporary quarters this week. Then the pets on Tuesday and w start staying over and the the final move for the remainder of the week.
We'll be there for 6 - 8 weeks and back home after renovation is complete and then the move back. It's just like camping! Wife and I discussed coordinating a Garage Sale with a few other folks...found out that there's a lot of stuff we don't need...and should be a good..."Spring Cleaning! - Garage Sale" event. Take Care and Ride Safe! |

Expecting 7 - 14 inches of snow Saturday. So basically working, shoveling and hopefully sledding.
Friday night: we are setting things on fire. The xmas trees are nice and crispy right about now. They catch fast and burn big. So that will be fun. |

So its Saturday here down under and my wife has been having stronger and stronger contractions all night and into the day. Its now 13:41 pm and no let up yet. When precisely bub no 3 will come is anyone's guess. So I just jumped on the scooter and popped down the shops quickly to pick up some last minute groceries. Haven't been on Percy for over a week because of the rain all week. God it felt good and so destressing-well back to the birth...

We burned things last night. Helpfully the boys pulled most of the dry dead stuff out of my garden. It was a dirty fire, but I have far less garden clean up to do now.
Its snowing now- very heavy and wet. But the stones around the fire pit are still clear. It was a hot fire.
sunflowers burn well.
Had about 15 people show up.
This is 1 foot of xmas tree. I think it looks like a giraffe.
Friend took this one with a camera- not a phone

Watching the snow melt, it was supposed to be rain and then clear next week. I already had the scooter out in my dreams.

Three days ago we had several inches of snow fall.
Temps expected to be in the low 60s tomorrow. A ride is on the schedule. Spring is almost here. |

Beautiful WNC!
All of a sudden it feels like spring in the mountains, although we know there will be another snow or two before winter is done. I would have loved to ride today, but it is a busy Lent and we had rehearsal this am. Check out our group at www.pastyme.org Tonight I fired up the charcoal and we grilled vegetables and salmon......drinks on the deck and music from the outdoor speakers. La dolce vita -----hope all is well with all of you!

Great pics, Mocker! We had perfect weather today, a little preview of Spring. As I stated earlier, I went for a ride today. I went to check out the bridge construction at Madison IN. They're replacing the super structure of a bridge that has been in place since 1929. They beefed up the pilings, built a new super structure, and will slide it in place sometime this Spring. It's one of only two bridges across the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Louisville, so the commute while the bridge is closed will be a pain. I'm retired, so time means nothing to me.
You can see the ramp leading to the original span, currently in use.
This view shows the ramp and approach that will be in place when they slide the new super structure over.

Nothing extremely exciting planned this week. We might do a little bit of scooter tinkering tomorrow, and I'll swap out the horn cover bulb to an LED. That'll make all but the signals and headlight LEDs now. I'm hoping the rain expected in the next few days will melt most of the ice on the apartment drive and I can actually ride to work a couple times. I've got a minor surgery coming up next week, so some preliminary testing will eat up most of my Friday.
I wish we could push the house-buying process faster (have to wait for certain deadlines, unfortunately). I just want to pack and move and be in our new house already. It's got a huge driveway with a little extra bit at the back of it that even Dan commented would be a great place to line up several scooters. Seriously, you could fit probably 6 to 9 scoots across the back, at 2 rows deep without even blocking the garage. So yeah... scooter party at our place later this summer!

It poured down rain all day today, but the Hawaii Moto Ryder got together for lunch and a ride anyway. Four modern Vespas, a couple Triumphs, Hondas, Yamahas and a few other bikes. Mods and rockers can get along!

I was a fun ride and i think i'm still wet. Poor Zap got hosed by an asshole going full speed thru standing water and a lot of standing water. Were a hardy group tho.
