Nice surprise! I'd be curious how my wife would react as she's usually pretty insistent on a 24 hour advance notice....but she'd get over it, lol.
Well I know if someone showed up unannounced and said they were my son I would be very curious as I never had any kids. It might be hard to believe that someone who grew up in the `60's would know for sure all the ladies he had relations with but might be sad to say I do!

My Dad (82) spent his early years earning his Masters and Bachelors degree only to find out that it was more advantageous for him to work in the automotive industry to support his family than it was to be an educator.

That's the short of it. Anyhow, the nut doesn't fall far from the tree. I've been working in automotive since 1987, almost exclusively in metrology.

We commiserate on all things manufacturing when we get together. I've been at my current job for almost eight years now. That whole time we've talked about him coming in for a tour.

Today he was in town for a medical appointment and he got the time wrong allowing him an extra three hours. I ok'd it with management and was able to take him on a tour of the place and show him what I do for a living.

Mom passed away about a year and a half ago. I understand when people say, "There'll come a day when you wish ..."

I'm glad to still have my Dad around.

Get it, you won't regret it. I have a 6 Pro and love it. I and am having a hard time not getting one. With the trade in the 7 Pro would be $200.00. out of pocket.

I'm so glad this month is almost over.

Today is the 8th day that I've worked this month, tomorrow will be the 9th. Yes, I will have only worked 9 out of 30 days this month. Between vacation, COVID, Thanksgiving, and weekends, I was off the other 21 days.

It's been weird, and I'll be glad when it's over.

From time to time, I have exchanged scooter T-Shirts
with you good folks on this forum. Also, swapped patches.

It cheered me up today when I received the following T-Shirt
From South Africa. I will wear it with pride - much to the envy
of my local riding group.

Who do we know in South Africa? Could it be Fud?

I have seven 80-lb bags of cement stored in my garage that I bought for a project that never materialized. Been wanting to get rid of them for a while, and mentioned them in passing to a coworker, who said she has a project and would be interested. I told her I'd just give them to her, we'd just have to arrange a time for me to bring them to work, and I'd transfer them from my truck to hers. Six months later, we have the transfer set for this Friday.

Since I had to clear out the area where they were stored to get easier access to them for loading on Friday morning, I also figured I'd put our old electric dryer that's been sitting there for 3 years out on the curb with an "It Works" note on it, in hopes that someone would drive by and pick it up.

Last Friday, someone on NextDoor complained about people putting furniture and appliances on their curbs to be picked up and put in the landfill, rather than donate the items to Goodwill or Salvation Army, or something. I commented about my dryer, that I figured I'd put it out Saturday afternoon, and it'd be gone in an hour.

On Sunday, someone commented with a link to another post suggesting that I offer it to the user in the other post, who was looking for a cheap/free electric dryer. So I did.

I spent two hours on Saturday cleaning & reorganizing the garage. I moved the cement closer to my truck, and got the dryer ready for pickup. I also swept up all the dust/dirt/leaves that our cars had tracked into the garage.

At 5:45, the couple showed up with their trailer to pick up the dryer. She texted me an hour later letting me know that it still works, and that they were using it, and that they are very thankful for it.

I'm just glad that someone is getting use out of it.

Now to find someone to buy my BV350...

Bob, FUD was my first guess as well.

Don't worry about it being too big. Just wash it in hot water and it will shrink.

Umm, as to the origin, Fudmucker does happen to hail from Pretoria. I mean, who else do we really have there?

I'm feeling happy to see the start of ski season in North America. I'll be skiing at this time tomorrow. The worst day skiing is better than the best day sitting behind my desk. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but you get my meaning

Grumpy Biker,

Good on you. I use to love downhill skiing. To keep us out of trouble,
my parents would by a season pass to the local slope. Everyday
after school, out to the slope.

But different here - we spent half the time on the chair lifts. The
local ski areas was called "Buck Hill".

Have a great day - to cold for my old frostbitten bones.

This was my hang out in High School. Again - not a mountain - just a hill.

Bob, I've spent many days skiing on "hills" similar to the one in your photo. When you live in the Midwest, you don't have the Rockies or the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges close by.
