Around here I find that the boy racers in their WRX's with the bazooka exhaust will always give trouble, they just cannot stand it when a scooter is quicker off the lights, it seems to be a threat to their ego or something.
Whenever I see a Subaru WRX or pimped up Forrester WRX wannabe I always get ready for trouble, they usually tailgate you, yell abuse, cut you off or generally just drive like the wankers they are........unless of course they are on their own & don't have there mates with them to back them up. |

I have to stick up for BMWs as I work for them and drive one - BUT I also drive a MINI - so does that only make me a jerk when I'm driving the Beemer? My vote is for Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Evo, both of which are easy to avoid as you can hear their bass speakers from 3km away! - Unstt - Unstt -Unstt

It's not just car drivers. Perhaps controversially, I often find riders of 50cc scooters to be among the least considerate road users about.
I think it's because you don't need any training or certificate whatsoever to ride one, so a lot of the riders simply don't consider things that people on bigger bikes do. |

Oh yeah, obviously I enjoy the overtaking shortly afterwards.
It just amazes me that so many people on mopeds obliviously pull straight in front of massive motorbikes at lights - it's just antisocial! I had a 50cc Yamaha for a few years before getting the GTS, and was always at pains to avoid getting in everyone's way. Anyway, I'll stop there, as I've just read that and sound like a right moany git. |

I save my ire for nitwits who tie a mattress to their roof with string. A couple of years ago I was going to work the day after a track day and nearly hit one coming around a freeway onramp. It made me realize the racetrack is, in many ways, much safer than the street.
In general, I'll take aggressive but attentive drivers over distracted morons any day. People talk about Italian drivers being bad, but they aren't - they're just fast and don't like people dawdling in the left lane. They are always predictable, and don't get their panties in a bunch if you pass them. Contrast this with many US drivers who drive slowly in the left lane and don't seem to notice that they're being passed on the right again and again, or who do random bonehead moves like cutting across 3 lanes of traffic to get to the freeway exit they were going to miss. Well, you get the idea. |

Stupid, crazy drivers in the bay? YES, but all you have to do is be aware and see that they are idiots trying to get somewhere faster than you and get out of their way. I say this because I used to commute up and down 880 from San Jose to Oakland every work day. If another freaking asshat cuts me off in the fast lane and goes SLOWER than me I am going to start stocking maltolf's in the car!!! In the bay, I never quite understood rode rage. There's a ton of people living and working in a very small area with not enough freeway lanes. DEAL! Up here in Sacto...that's why I'm getting a scooter to put-put around on surface streets. EVERYONE I see around town scooting is smiling. I want to smile again and enjoy the northern CA weather! |
