Take another look at that carb. It looks like a bog standard Dell 'Orto 20/20. I know that Gene @Scooters Originali and the guys at Scooterwest carry that kit & needle. It is really nothing unusual -- I have one on my current P200E.

Hi Dugan, I'm in Chicago and have a spair DO 24/24 rebuild kit and extra float and needle. I'm not sure if this will work (expert chime in here). If it or the needle and float will work, it's yours.

I'm pretty sure the extra stuff in my 24/24 kit was for the 20/20. I still have all those too...

It's running!
This is the first time I've ever troubleshot something in my life. Thanks, gang. Still gonna do a full carb clean and rebuild. EDIT: I shouldn't say never troubleshot anything. Just nothing with an engine. |

Congratulations! What did you do differently to get it running again? And when do we get a picture of the bike?

Round #2
After a generous gift from Mighty_Triceratops of a rebuild kit and carefully following these instruction on a carb rebuild ..... Later that afternoon, I go to start it up, and it starts up just fine. But after about 10 seconds, the idle went up (idled normal initially) for about 3 seconds then died. I'm thinking something with the choke is wonky? So back at it again tonight. |

I suppose just replacing that and taking it out of the equation isn't the worst thing in the world. It just seems odd it would run great all morning, then this very strange, and specific behavior. |
