The BlockParty is a fun event that's all about getting to know your fellow scooterists and riding, riding, riding your scooter. Great rides, music, food, beer, patches, t-shirts, a slow race and a raffle can be expected.
Events take place at various venues around the NYC metropolitan area...
SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 8TH:
9:30 AM: RIDE TO BROOKLYN -- If you're unfamiliar with the outer boroughs, meet at THE BRASS MONKEY (55 Little West 12th Street, New York, NY) for an escort to Union Garage.
10:00 AM: MEETUP & BREAKFAST AT UNION GARAGE (103 Union Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231) -- Meet your fellow riders, enjoy a light breakfast courtesy of Union Garage, and pick up a BlockParty t-shirt and patch, NYSC legshield banner or patch, rally swag, and raffle tickets (available all day, while supplies last).
ISLAND HOPPING RIDES
11:00 AM: STATEN ISLAND RIDE -- Depart from Union Garage for a scenic ride through "NYC's Forgotten Borough." Discover the gems of the Island including, Snug Harbor, Lighthouse Hill, Todt Hill, Saw Mill March Creek and others. We will break for some eats along the way. We will be taking 4th Avenue through Brooklyn but be prepared for the Verrazano Narrows Bridge to SI. Suitable for scooters 125cc and up.
RIDE LEAD: BRENDAN
RIDE EXPERIENCE: Moderate (there will be some stretches of open road at speed, some steep hills and winding roads, and a short jaunt on the VNB to cross the Narrows).

11:15 AM: ROOSEVELT ISLAND RIDE -- Ride leaves Union Garage for for some beautiful views of the city's skyline. We will have stops at Gantry Plaza State Park where trains boarded floats or barges. We will also ride thru Roosevelt Island and head to the outdoor graffiti museum called 5 Pointz. Suitable for all scooters. RIDE LEADS: PAPAFERN
RIDE EXPERIENCE: Beginner to Moderate.
4:00 PM: FOOD, MUSIC & FUN AT SCOOTER BOTTEGA (65 Union Street Brooklyn, NY) -- Both rides arrive at Scooter Bottega for a block party. Enjoy food, drink, and DJs, as well as the slow race competition and raffle.
8:00 PM: TIMES SQUARE NIGHT RIDE, PART 1 -- Big night ride leaves Scooter Bottega for meetup point in Manhattan.
8:30 PM: TIMES SQUARE NIGHT RIDE, PART 2 -- Didn't catch the ride from Brooklyn? Riders from Scooter Bottega will pause at THE BRASS MONKEY (55 Little West 12th Street, New York, NY) to pick up other scooterists for a ride up the West Side and to and through Times Square. This is a New York tradition, so don't miss it.
