Hello there,

My vespa has been sitting in the garage for most of the winter, and I have taken it out a couple of times. What I see now is that when the engine speed is slow, it will stop. Like, if I start the engine and not speed up, it will immediately die. If I stop at red light, it will stop as well. My workaround now is that when I stop at red light, I will turn on both throttle and break so it won't die. I don't have much trouble starting it though, especially if I turn the engine throttle. What could be going wrong?

gummed up fuel injector? I immediately thought idle jet, but you have a GTS 250 which is fuel injected. Did you winterize the bike prior to the winter storage? Try some seafoam in the tank and run the bike a good distance to let it work through. I had a dirty idle jet and that worked for me...

You may need to drain the gas. Did you put a stabilizer in the gas before storage?

ooops, I didn't put in anything in the gas for storage, and it was a full tank of gas. Is seafoam the solution?

IMHO it is worth a shot. You will have to keep it running so the Seafoam can get through the whole system.

And, if Seafoam doesn't do it - I'd say the next step is throttle body cleaner in a spray can.
