I have narrowed my search down to 2 options the reason is basic PRICE, safety and Loooff couse.

I know looks is the last thing to look at but here it is

I have been able to try on a Shark Evoline 3 which was very cool and I really like the helmet.

But I really like the idea of a Simpson Bandit. If you search almost every helmet company they show 360' vies of the helmets as well as pics of the lining and inner. I still can not seem to find any of these phots.

Question is does any one have a Simpson Bandit and what are your views on this helmet.

Costs the Shark I can get for R3950.00 = $376.19 also 5* rated with Sharp.co.uk
Simpson Bandit R5750.00 = $547.62

Is the simpson that much better on Build Quality.

Suggestions please and if you have a Simpson Bandit please can you send me some photos of the inner lining.

Thanks
Look very cool and I think has a 70's appeal for the Vintage scooters

Really like the function of both a half helmet and a full helmet in one.

Never had or even seen the Simpson, but I can speak to the build quality of the Shark. I have the Evoline 3 and it is very solidly built. The fit is tight, but comfortable, as it should be. It feels like a pair of softly-gloved hands *firmly* gripping my head and face. Perfect.

The seal when you tick the face shield down that extra tick to seat it against the gasket is nice and tight.

The airflow in full-face mode is good, but some helmets have great airflow...this is not one of them.

The built-in sun shield is great, and I like that it stays in place even if you only push it down halfway--that's a point for build quality.

And for me, the little removable bits that make wearing it with glasses a better fit were the winning selling point. A really nice touch that few helmets offer.

In short, assuming it fits you well, you're not going to go wrong with the Evoline 3.

You could also go right with other helmets. But given the choice between a helmet I can try on and one I can't, I'd take the one I can try on every time.

ps - FWIW, I got the Lumi version of the Evoline, not because I gave a rat's ass about the gimmicky glow-in-the-dark feature, but because the striping on that model looked pretty retro to me. I think it looks the business with my matte black Vespa...maybe you'll have the same experience. Give it a look.

They seem to be very high end racing safety helmet suppliers

Helmets are personal, but I remember reading a test of various helmets and construction methods; the emphasis on how helmet energy-absorbing behavior affects the brain in the event of an impact is very interesting.

I think this article is worth reading, in any event.

It is called Blowing the Lid Off, from Motorcyclist Magazine.

http://www.westcoastweasels.com/archives/PDF/Blowing_the_Lid_Off.pdf

hope I did that correctly

Read the UK SHARP test
The UK did some great tests of different helmets, please see here:

http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/

but fit is terribly important. Don't buy any helmet you can't try on or can't return. There are some good videos on youtube about how to test the fit of a helmet. here is one:

I have the Shark Evoline. Love mine but it is a bit heavy. I find myself riding in 3/4 mode most of the time. It is heavy. It suits people with Charlie Brown round heads. I finally wore mine out and the faceshield detent system is broken.

Nice to see you chosing a full face helmet. At the San Antonio Scooter rally on May 5th, I was the only one wearing a full-face helmet out of maybe 200 riders. I have the new HJC PIM pinlock helmet with antiflog attachment which never fogs up and fits like a glove.
