Anybody have any instructions on how to do clean this?
Thx
Ummmm if you're mechanically inclined. You have to remove the airbox, then connecting tube to the throttle body. You can see inside the throttle body there is a butterfly valve that is actuated by the throttle. Bear in mind that your engine is exposed - do not let foreign objects get in. Anyway - inside teh throat there is a small hole on the side near the butterfly- that is the idle port. Best thing to do is spray a little and let soak, use a bristle brush that will NOT shed bristles and try to clean the port. Also bear in mind this isn't the easiest location to work in so make sure you have a flashlight and lots of patience.
BTW - I was reminded on my way home today that the RUN switch can cause this BS too. Mine started cutting out and jerking at 75 mph and I was trying to thin kof how the plugs looked last and how long. On a whim I cycled the run switch about a dozen times and she settled right down. I think it just has a nasty habit of collecting crud in there and can get intermittent contact. Now bear in mind this occurs at any speed - not just from slowing down as you describe. But worth a shot since it's easy to do.
