Modern Vespa

Went to my local bike night tonight at PJ's Barb Qsa in Saratoga, NY. Think my Vespa scared all the Harley's off.

But of course. So I can also demonstrate my proficiency with my Vespa weaving and cornering. Lol.

An hour later 4 more bikes came but parked two spots over from me. I felt like the smelly kid in school.

Did you guys have that awkward moment when you look over at them and they look away?

Haha. Personally I think they were just intimidated by my GTS 250. I can understand. Lol.

there is nothing quite as cool as a vespa, and yours does rock.....nothing more to say

I went on a charity ride once. I parked my vespa, it was first in a row. I went to get some coffee. When I came back a new row of bikes had started after mine & no one would park behind my S150. A coordinator told me I needed to park correctly. I dropped off my toys & split.

I just realized I'm gonna be 40 next year. I'm starting to tell the younger guys I work with how things were when I was there age. Lol

That sucks. The good thing is that they like us scooters coming to this bike night it's just weekend was the big motorcycle rally called Americade up north from me and the regulars were there. These were out of towners so I'll let it slide. Lol.

I have ridden beside a GXSR750 for 50 miles on curvy rodes. I could get the inside position sometimes. He is my friend.

Well if its any consolation, that song is now stuck in my head for the night.

Unfortunately my area of upstate NY thinks all scooters are mopeds. We are few and far between here. I've ridden with a few of my buddies that have Harley's and its all good. I feel it's those that have that misconception in their head that scooters can only go 35mph. I love the looks I get when I'm on the highway doing 80.

Followed my neighbor driving his 1700 cc Harley Touring bike this weekend a hundred miles one-way up towards the NC mountains on my GTS 250. Hung really well with him and had no trouble zipping out in front at the starts, but on those long stretches uphill, I started to loose him a couple of times.

He hates the twisty turns with that big, heavy bike and favors the long straight stretches. The more turns, the better for me. We parked next to each other all weekend long and got plenty of stares. Some of the Harley riders going in the other direction seemed to want to take back their "low wave" when they saw me coming from behind him.

We had a great trip and he taught me some really nice, albeit a little too straight, routes towards the BRP. We both had a great time and well, that's what it's really all about.

I get that on a daily basis here too. Like they wanna wave then realize its a scooter and look the other way. I wave anyways.

I give them the head wave , more often get it back.......but not always

That's some pothole behind the rear wheel of your scooter in the picture. Good thing it's a parking space in a lot.

I think it just looks like a pothole from processing I did on the pic that made the shadows darker.

Speaking of potholes though, hit one at 55mph the other day that definitely rattled my cage.

You know, that shot hits about every requirement for a killer, well composed image, of which it are one (so to speak). Great angle, focus, color and composition.

Thank you. I love the gritty dark look. Adds drama. It's funny, I used to shoot with professional Nikon gear for years, which I sold. Now I only have my iphone5 and honestly, I have more fun shooting with that then a $6000 camera.

Ironically, it used to be me last year that was the only one who showed up almost every bike night there. Now I tell my manager the only time I want off is every Thursday evening, and guess what happens?

Dammit I cannot uprate the same user more than twice per day.

I figured no one was coming because of the rain. We missed you today though. The Americade ride was fun, started out wet but dried up pretty quick. Amy from Saratoga even joined us on her GTS 300.
