Hi all!

I'm new here, but wondered if anybody else had trouble with with their clutch glazing over.

It's a 2012 LX 125ie. The shop has cleaned it up for me once already, but it didn't stick.

Is the idle set too high? Or is it the way I'm driving (mostly slow speed filtering).

It's driving me made because it takes a second to engage.

Thanks for any help!

It dont sound right to me, Never happened,(touch wood) on my mrs's scoot. She is hammering it just now only doing slow control stuff for the mod 1.

Smalls scoots are designed for city use, its in there dna.

Hopfully someone with more experience can point you in the right direction.

Slow speed filtering will certainly glaze the clutch within a few hundred miles. It can be mitigated by doing full-throttle take-offs when you've got to the front, but will seem worse when the clutch has heated up. Regular cleaning helps - get used to whipping off the transmission case and DIY - it only takes a few minutes, no need to drag the scoot to the dealer each time.

Yup. Slow speed running with the clutch slipping slightly when hot will lead to glazing (and the 'strangled sealion' noise and judder) - fast starts will tend to tear through the glaze. Just doing high speed isn't the answer - it has to be hard starts. So if a commute invariably demands lots of slow filtering - make sure you jack-rabbit away from the front.
