Let me clarify that I was sharing my involvement in a motorbike accident as first attender to the scene. A young gentleman was the cause of his own accident by driving irresponsibly and at the very least showing off to the 'other' motorcyclist beside him (sic me).

If I made some assumptions or elaborated slightly it was in the pretext of 'setting the scene' and telling a good story.

I have only recently returned to this forum after a spell on the sidelines for 'overthinking' comments by others so I understand precisely where you are coming from.

Personally I am relieved he did not die and the real lesson of this story is - NEVER EVER remove a riders helmet once he has gone down hard unless you can be absolutely sure he has no head or spinal injury!

I care about what others think, both about themselves, their loved ones and the world around them. In my book its called being a human being but I guess that's why I have been nursing for nearly 25 years and nursing very unsavoury characters for the last 5...

Its not paranoia, I was simply story telling (you know how it goes...beginning,middle,end!)

However, his embarrassed look when he came to and realised who was fucking helping him said it all. I can read faces and read expressions (admittedly not through a ff helmet) but I know he had been showing off at me and had been unimpressed by my ride. But, I wasn't the one picking up my scratched and fucked bike off the ground either.

Although I observed his disdain and know that that is what it was, working where I work I can assure you it was water off a ducks back. I don't let things like that get to me (unless it happens to be typed in a thread on MV of course)

Who gives a flyin fuck bout you or the other guy....

I don't rant, I only shared my profession and background for context and/or qualification.

Am I ego driven? Yes probably but you have already stated you don't care so what!

Did I have disdain for the rider-absolutely not! (That comment crosses a line-but I shall rise above it) I have had the unfortunate pleasure of being first on the scene for two major multiple road fatality accidents. One involved the 'deroofing' and beheading of several occupants of a vehicle and the other fire and children. (I will say no more on this site about either of those experiences as believe me it would not make pleasant reading!)

I was greatful that the rider only sustained minor fracture injury and nothing more severe. It was a needless accident how ever you look at it causing both pain and financial loss to him and I am sorry it occurred.

As for your playground analogy I prefer to think I would be the responsible adult nearby who ensured the accident did not occur in the first instance or be at his side comforting, reassuring and offering appropriate first aid and I was like that as a kid too.

But hey feel free to think about me what you want even if it is 'that you don't give a flyin fuck!' I shall try not to lose sleep...

...and that will just about do it for today.
