Hi guys

Was pulled over by police last week and informed that my back light was dim. Thing is, I was sat at a roundabout junction and was for some time before they approached. Ive heard vespas generate their own light when the engine is revves and become brighter as you ride, is this true?

If not need my electrics looking at as ive changed the bulb
Cheers
Rob

You could go with a brighter LED bulb for the back light (I'm assuming you are talking about the license plate light?) ... don't know what base bulb that is for your scoot - but superbrightleds.com will have the bulb you need.

I think it's more on the old pre-battery scoots that the lights dimmed at low rpm's. Newer scooters have a battery and are pretty consistent. Do you feel the light is overly dim? Dim seems a pretty objective word to pull someone over about. I guess you could use a volt meter and check at the light socket to make sure you were getting the full power to the bulb.

Sounds to me like a good excuse to pull you over and check your details,

I have an S50 2009 and they didnt give me a ticket but said i had to get it sorted the very next day.

And yeah, when its revved it lights up an awful lot.
I did go to a garage and they said my relay wasn't working properly but ever since they took it out and rewired it back in it seems fine! They also quoted me £40 for the repair which I dont fancy paying if I dont need to!

And this isnt the licence plate by the way its the main rear light and the brake light is still working.
