Referring to a moderator calling someone out for acting like a dick as "rude" or "unprofessional" is a bit nutty. That's like saying "don't call a bully 'mean'... it's mean to do that"

Look, if you act like a dick (and we all have at some point), the administration here can call you on it. The dick should not be defended as a "victim"... they're the one being a dick to someone else!

Jess doesn't run around acting like a dick. He gets into tussles with people who act like dicks. He's not nice to people who aren't nice? Cry me a river.

And it's his house. Use the forum (and follow the guidelines) or don't use the forum.

I guess those of us who actually are a "Dick" (Richard) are screwed from the get go.

Personally, I like the way that this board is moderated and I am very appreciative of the work that Jess, as well as the other moderators, put into this site to make it informative, fun, and friendly. Yes... Friendly. I cam here via Modern Buddy and I really love that site as well. I was a bit I timid acted when I came here and a bit worried that it would not be as welcoming. My worries were unfounded, and I have gotten to know some genuinely terrific people here.

This entire argument reminds me of those conversations were a friend, or more often an acquaintence begins a conversation with, "I hope you won't feel hurt, (get mad, whatever) by what I am going to say but _ _ _ _ _ (fill in the blank)" and then they proceed to say something that would hurt the feeling of the most stalwart of people. Then they get offended when you take offense. It is a passive agressive form of bullying. No one needs it, the ones who do it won't be missed.

I like waxing philosophic as much as the next guy... I just don't get what we are going to accomplish here....

Oddly enough, this thread serves a useful purpose. It apparently has the ability to draw idiots to the banhammer like moths to a flame. Saves me the trouble of having to pick them off individually later.

But, I equally struggle with computers and keyboards and especially hate it wHEN i Get tHE cAPS lock button mIXED uP!

Jess on the other hand was able to create this forum and it must be awesome to see what you've created be used and enjoyed by so many others.

So Jess obviously did take offence or was aware of something in the posts or thread that was inappropriate, insulting, goading, trollish, personal, acting a dick or whatever and members got warned then banned.

Fair enough in my book, after all they were warned...moving on;

Having spent six years living in Melbourne it's a great city true and consistently draws with Vancouver in Canada, for world's most liveable city but it equally has one of the highest industrialised city incidences of both asthma and eczema in its children too (I bet you didn't know that Monit). Winter in Melbourne isn't really cold but its dark and very wet and a bit miserable at times.

Final point as a person who is relatively new to the whole idea of public forums.

It is not what you say but how it is perceived by others.
