Modern Vespa

Hi folks, I recently got myself the brand new piaggio fly 125 (3v) to learn the london knowledge (to be a london cabbie).

What I'm in need of advice for, is in regard to the seat. Not sure if any of you guys would know, but london is heaving with potholes etc - and a 4 hour ride easily ends up in a pain in the arse (quite literally). So was wondering if you folks would be able to suggest something to resolve this issue? I've been trying to look for custom seats, but haven't had any luck. I guess I could try a upholstery specialist? But then that would mean more expense!

I haven't tried to contact piaggio directly yet, but it seems they don't offer parts online.

You might want to consider an Airhawk cushion. It should give you the padding you need. Once you have your license you can use it in your cab.

I suffer the same plight on my 2010 Fly. The seat is quite literally a PITA.

The Airhawk pad mentioned above has been well reviewed here and many other motorcycle forums and publications. Not sure of availability in your area.

Another option I've seen is sheepskin to help alleviate some of the pain and discomfort.

I've always found that padded bicycling shorts worn under jeans is an inexpensive and effective way to soften the blow, so to speak.
