Do I have a virus or is it this site??

Whenever I sign in to Modern Vespa and or click on Mp3"s I get a pop-up that says "Your computer is at risk, click on here". Anybody else experience this?

I bet that will happen whenever you visit any site that uses cookies. Your problem certainly lies with something outside of Modern Vespa.

BTW just in case it's not obvious, do NOT "click here"!

Unless, of course, you can Claim Your Free Prize for being the 1,000,000th visitor by doing so...

Search the web for the message that pops up and you find several references. Hope they help.

No. I have been using Chrome for ~ 2 years or so. I don't think this is a browser issue.

I have had similar notices telling me viruses were discovered and offers to fix them. Those are clearly malware of one sort or another.

Pick some of the solutions and give them a try. Just might help. Be sure to use only known and trusted sites advice for correction.

NEVER respond to something that claims you have a virus! Internet Explorer is giving out those messages right now, and if you use outlook for mail on chrome it will do it there too.

It isn't the browser. It is a virus that has contaminated your system and pops up a browser window claiming you have a virus (technically true) and offering a solution (totally bogus) for 'fixing' it.

try something like http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/stinger.aspx

Never use anything McFee or Norton. Get a good program like Nod 32 they have a PC scan on their site you can run too.

It's an Internet Explorer warning about an Internet Explorer setting. If you set IE's default security settings for the Internet or Restricted Zones too low, IE will warn you about it:

Reset your Zone security settings to recommended levels to stop getting the warning or turn off the check that causes the warning:

To disable Internet Explorer's Information Bar warnings, do this from your Administrator account:

From the Start Menu, select Run... In the Run... dialog, enter gpedit.msc and click OK. This will launch the Group Policy Editor snap-in. Under the Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer tree, find the setting called Turn Off The Security Settings Check feature double click it and change the setting to Enabled and click OK to save the setting.

That should stop IE from pestering you about your security settings in all user accounts.

I use the free version of AVG. I ran a full computer scan, showed nothing.

I got an email from one of my trusted friends that I should have recognized as spam. I did not!! Probably where it came from. Thanks for the suggestions. I will keep on trying..
I did adjust popups to max range. Now I just get a msg. That Internet explorer blocked a popup. Need to get rid of the bug.

I agree that one should not pay for and install the bloated pricey junk from these guys but STINGER does not install, does not nag you to buy subscriptions, does not cost anything and it often works. Nice for those times when you have nothing already and you know you got zinged.
