85 basket case... Working out

After hooking up the wiring... the following works: high and low light, kill switch, key switch, brakes switches and rear brake light.

I have not tried the starter (used electrical tape on the ends)... The natural indicator not connected (used electrical tape on the ends) and fuel tank sensor not connected.

I have low but good battery...

Now for the advice part... I am getting a max of 3.5 volts to the horn but it makes noise. The blinkers are not working. I am getting about 3V volts into the blinker relay via a regulator. Before checking voltage I replaced the blinker relay from auto part store.

Bad regulator?

How low is it.....a low battery ain't a good one.

Even with a dodgy reg the horn and indicators should work off the battery. So with the ignition switched on your horn and relay supplies should be at the same voltage as your battery. If the battery is reading higher than that(with ignition switched on), you have a poor connection or faulty ignition switch. If it's reading the same low voltage, you have a very knackered battery.

Maybe a low battery is not the correct tern. It is a weak battery... It is showing 12 Volts (11.5 to 11.9) I took it off another vespa running bike...

Your statement,,, "Even with a dodgy reg the horn and indicators should work off the battery. "... For the newer vespa that is a true statement. I have seen an 2005 PX where the lights, horn, and blinkers work without a running motor... I get nothing at the horn, blinker or front light if the bike not running... tis bike is acting like a smallframe without a batter, the fast the motor the brighter the front light and the more power to the horn...

One might think a faulty ignition switch would cause the front light not to work...
