Cindy has 3400 miles on her scoot(MP3 250) and the rear tire is getting thin. Is this all the miles you get on a rear tire?
I found this tire 145/70-12 for around $80
http://www.7ent.com/products/145-70-12-falken-sincera-swt0129.html
I hope it gets more miles on it before we have to change it out.
Any other tires I should look at that get more miles on them before they need to be changed?

I'm pretty sure that is the tire several here have used and I believe they all liked it and got MUCH better life out of it. Search for the darkside or dark side and you should find lots of info and opinions for and against.

My original rear tire went just over 4000 miles. Replaced it with a Michelin City Grip which has over 7000 miles at this point. The City Grip will probably be replaced at about 8000 miles by the look of it.

My bike is darksided

My tire is a 175/75-16 and I'll get 30 to 35k miles on it before I will have to change it out.
I was just so surprised on how fast the MP3 rear tire wore out. If I can get 10k miles out of a rear tire on the MP3 I'll be happy.

10k miles is not reasonable on a regular MP3 250 rear tire.
The 250 tires are only 12" diameter which means they make a lot more revolutions per mile than a larger tire.
Michelin Power Pures are fantastic for grip, but they do not last very long.
The best rear tire, IMHO, is the City Grips. They last about 4-5k, if I remember right, offer good grip, are a good price, and have good longevity.

The only way to get 10k or more out of a 250 rear tire is to go dark side.

Well, Cindy and I are riding up to Auburn to pick up a 145/70-12 tire at Seven Enterprises. She will like a new rear tire as she keeps looking at the one thats on the bike and says that sure look like I need a new one. LOL
