Hello everyone!

This is my first post so i apologise in advance for any noobness.
My Vespa LX 125 2006 got damaged as a result of a theft attempt the other day and i have been busy doing research to determine what exactly i need to replace. Basically, the steering lock support was completely twisted/broken and the end part of the lock barrel (that turns the ignition switch) is chipped so will need replacing.

There one thing I cannot seem to figure out: it looks like they ripped something out of the ignition switch so now it looks like a green socket of some sort and now there are some loose wires hanging (will post pics later today). Would someone kindly advise me on what it is I need to get for the ignition switch to work.

Many thanks indeed!!

Sorry to hear about your scooter. Seems scooter theft is very prevalent in the UK based on the numbers reported here. I can't offer help. Just wanted to welcome you to Modern Vespa. I am sure someone will be along to help you.

Photos as promissed
Thanks for the quick responses guys. Yes, sadly scooter/motorbike theft is widespread here. My brother's bike was found one day parked across the road burned down to the ground. At least i can be happy this didn't happen to mine. Mine was found in a nearby alley where they had dumped it having given up on trying to "hotwire" it after inflicting considerable damage to the locks.

Sorry i did not have the photos uploaded by then. Here they are...

also, does anyone know what kind of screws go in the top two wholes. they hold the glovebox panel to the frame from the front but are not the same as the ones that go in through the actual glovebox compartment. these could be them but i cannot be sure fro

sorry, the caption to the last photo was cut off. it was meant to read:

The thieves just took out any screw they could get MY screwdriver on.

thanks for taking your time to have a look at it. sorry if anything is unclear. let me know and i will explain/upload more photos.

That looks like the remains of the electrical portion of the switch itself.

The mechanical portion of the switch turns a electrical switch that connects the various wires correctly allowing your bike to run.
