2010 S150 purchased August 2012
No previous starting issues at all
I'm a daily rider
Rode Friday with no issues
Sunday...nothing...just a click
Took out battery (Yuasa YB9-B) and put it on the tender overnight
Fuses are good
Kill switch is off (I never use it)
I've tried using both brake levers

Still wouldn't start after charging.

Today after letting it sit with the battery in for a day I encountered a new wrinkle. When I turn the key the lights come on but now when I attempt to start it the lights cut out. Might this indicate that my battery definitely needs replacing?

I know the next step would be checking for spark but my swollen fibromyalgic digits are not up to the acrobatics needed to check the plug.

The good weather is here and the dentist just took all my maintenance money Crying or Very sad emoticon

If it is possible for you , hook it up using your car battery (jumper cables). They're both 12 volt. If it works, you know you need a new battery.

That would require buying a car or at the very least a car battery...

Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced.

2010 S150 purchased August 2012? Could the battery be three or four years old? Start with the easy stuff. Test the battery with a multimeter. 12.6v and above is good.

Yes it is possible. I just remembered that multimeter I scored at Goodwill last year. I knew it would come in handy some day. I'll charge overnight, get a fuse for that meter and check it out tomorrow.

I did buy new but I wouldn't put it past my dealer to have left the original battery in even though it had been on the sales floor two years. I should have thought about it when purchasing. I'm just a bit surprised to have it suddenly die after giving me no previous trouble. That led me to think the battery may not be the culprit. We shall see...

Whatever your problem you should still have a month or so left on the warranty.
