I say "minor," because I didn't do any work on the variator, rollers, or belt. However, yesterday and today I:

- Removed the exhaust at the head and cleaned.
- Removed front and rear wheels/tires
- Changed rear hub oil
- Changed engine oil + filter
- Fitted 2 new Michelin Power Pure SC tires (140/70 in the back) - took old wheel/tires to local shop with new, unmounted tires. $40 later, I was set to go.
- Gave everything a good, thorough "look over," and put it all back together.

First ride report on the new tires later... Have to start on dinner now - pasta bolognese!

Thanks to all those who unknowingly helped me with this project - lots of great info out there in our MV Wiki, folks! Just gotta look...

congrats...
sounds major to me
Just had a shop happily put a new 140/70 heidenau on mine...and thought that was pretty involved...
Funny that so many seem to move to the bigger rear wheel...I like mine already.
Have to look into some of the minor service stuff myself.
happy scooting

It's really not bad once you commit to just getting in there and getting it done. Basic nuts 'n bolts stuff, no fancy tools required (save *maybe* for the "wobble" socket extension needed to access the exhaust nuts at the studs on the head).
