My village

I was stationed there in the mid 80s. They replaced the Marine guards with private security prior to shutting down the facility... the barracks were built in the late 1860s, so interesting and very different accomodations from most bases.

Quite the interesting place! I was surprised with the colors of the buildings, and the degredation that has taken place. Although a photo haven, I was kinda bummed about the condition of a notable landmark.

I did but I have not idea exactly what I did. It was ~4 years ago. I sorta remember taking a standard GTV photo and "inverting" the colors. Hope that helps!!

The glass artist Dale Chihuly has some installations at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. I went a couple afternoons ago. Overall I wish I had brought a tripod, but these turned out ok.

Singapore has just been growing at a phenomenal pace. One downside of this growth is the loss of old / memorable places. King Albert Park Mcdonald's have been an institution for many who live in the area, adults and students alike. The land have been acquired and will make way for a condominium dwelling. Here is a group of us saying goodbye to an institution.

Went to Sedona today. Don't know why but I like this.

For my wife's birthday, I made surprise reservations at Napa Valley Balloons in Yountville CA.

The day was incredible.

I've enjoyed looking at the great shots everyone has posted. I haven't taken any good shots lately ; but my cousin Cory just posted this shot of a moonrise over Mt Lassen last night on FB.

Some idiot on FB commented it was a good picture; but it would be much better if he had waited until the whole moon was up and if there wasn't any clouds.

I PMed him that I didn't want to argue with one of his friends that I don't even know; but I thought it was the moon through the clouds that made the picture so cool and I loved the overall composition. IMO the only scenario where she would be right is if he was using the picture in a Selenography class.

FWIW, I agree with you about the clouds are what make it cool.
