Love this thread. Thanks for starting. Here's a few from me.

I mostly focus on birds. I only have a few pieces of gear but very carefully selected: Canon 5DIII, 600mm II, 300mm II, 70-300 L, 24-105 L, 1.4x extender.

PS: Scewter: Nice shot of Niko, excellent image quality. Would have been really nice if it was trees in the background.

I've got a million of them, but this one is, in fact, the best one.

After seeing some of these photos I am almost ashamed to share mine. I am a beginner at using a camera and really don't know what I'm doing. All these are taken with an inexpensive point and shoot camera.

As a geologist, I've visited, and seen many photos of the Painted Hills. Your photo, taken at precisely the best season, captures the greens and reds, yellows and blues wonderfully.

I have a few photos. Most of my best work was done before digital was a viable medium, though, so the vast majority of what's to follow is shot on film.

Let's start with this series, from Burning Man 1997.

Hachi, as the original poster of this thread, I must tell you that your contribution is PERFECT! The whole intent behind this is to see stuff we wouldn't otherwise see, from someone else's perspective. I have never been to Alabama, and now I've seen a damn cool scooter and fountain on it's front Capitol steps. Perhaps I should have left the word Best off the title, and phrased it, "Show the photos you want others to see.." There is no contest. We all win with every post. There is no "Best."

Keep it going! I absofreakingilooly enjoy every response.

A nonstandard view of the Golden Gate Bridge, shot sometime in the 90s (I honestly can't remember) on film.

Another shot on film sometime in the 90s. This is at Death Valley, near Stovepipe Wells.

Frickin awesome thread. Got me looking for some of my Greenland pics....searching...may have to scan.

This is shot on film, and I really did manage to get an actual print of this with the saturation levels you see here. I cheated, of course -- using one of the short-lived Kodak darkroom-in-a-box photo kiosks before they went digital.

And finally, perhaps my favorite shot of all time. This is shot on film, from sometime in the 90's, in Bodie California. This shot adorns my desk at work, and makes me yearn for a slower pace of life.

Since the digital age I haven't shot much. When film was king my refrigerator had bricks of Kodachrome 64 and 25. Loved that slide film. Here's a recent shot of my son pitching for his little league team.

I'm a big fan of foreground work. Most excellent.

Some experimental work. Nikon D70.

Digital, but I can't remember what. Probably D70 or D80. On the road to Point Reyes Lighthouse.

Here's one that's really a study in what you can do with PhotoShop. Some people are purists about such things, but even before PhotoShop, I was pushing the limits of contrast and saturation, looking for interesting effects. In other words, I wasn't a purist even in the days before PhotoShop made it into an issue.

In addition to the overall color cast of the photo, note the change in definition of the hills on the horizon.
