Picked one up for the Honda, going to get another for either the P200 or the GTS.

Lose the high beam, but with these things, I am not sure you need it!

If you have a yearly state safety inspection you'll need the high beams

I purchased an HID kit from ScootersRS it was closer to $100 but it has both high/low beam. It actually moves the bulb to change the focus as opposed to dual filaments. I always (used) to ride with high beams during the day, one to be seen and mostly that way the high would burn out first and I could get home at night then replace. I know, high beams in the day is another discussion......... This is a kit "made" for a Vespa, a bit over my ability but my mechanic friend was very impressed with it. Mind you ScootersRS is out of Vietnam but shipping was about a week and really not to expensive. No two ways the amount of light is awesome, I drive often at night and it really helps me avoid those critters that "could" go bump in the night. Not to mention the deer that would kill me..........

DDM Tuning is having a sale on HIDs right now, too. That's where most MP3 riders have gotten their kits.

Edited to fix embarrasing typo (kits, not kids )

I am sorry, but any HID kit which does not include a reflector made for that kit is useless in my mind. All it will do is blind other motorists!

I know this is a generalization, but I have yet to see a kit that works well!

This. ^^^^^^^^^^^^

An aftermarket, true "projector" system can work well, but is expensive and difficult to install properly.

Discovered that the kit was mis-marked, it was really an H7

Got the proper H4 kit and it has a solenoid to set it to highbeam.

It has a built in reflector and when properly aligned with the bucket it casts a perfect light pattern, if about 5 degrees off alignment, but that I think I can correct if I rotate the glass in the retaining ring.

Also discovered the plastic 3 prong retainer for the wiring was shot and was grounding out intermittently. Fixed it by hardwiring it into the HID system.

If I want to go back, I need to buy another pigtail. No problemo, and the new setup will not rattle free.

Now to convert the P200....

My error, tis' ([redacted]) -- this is a link to the kit I got. Claims it is made for the Vespa. I had it installed by (not a Vespa mechanic) a very good mechanic I know. He was very impressed by the kit, claimed he did it "right" wired to battery, it should be noted there were no directions in the kit (?) However, he said it was straight forward he had to do some disassembly (the scooter curse) but was Nerd emoticon very impressed with the results. It is without a doubt, a major improvement. Very bright, very white and really lights up the night I would for sure do the HID headlight again if needed Clown emoticon Clown emoticon

[redacted]--- won't let me post link or even name? It is scoot followed by RS dotcom without the space after scoot and this is the product name Atomic HID Zenon H4 headlight system if that helps I keep getting a message say redacted ?? I think the address above is correct for light, just replace the redacted with scoot no spce RS Nerd emoticon Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon Nerd emoticon

Well okay, I will respect your ban, I did not know. They seemed to be easy to deal with and I like the product I bought. Not sure what the ban is for, however, if it's the politics of an old war and old wounds I understand. I grew up in that time and for me a trip to Vietnam is on the bucket-list.
