Water in the switches seem to be a common problem. I've started covering all of the switches in dialectic grease which solves that problem.

Yep - I posted a thread years ago on treating all the switches and connectors. There's also a product you can get called "Liquid Tape" that works well for the back of the connectors. Most connectors Piaggio went cheap and they are NOT sealed against the elements.

Well I didn't know if it was water or brake fluid or a plain'o connector failure .. But I called Scooter West.. They want $114.00 for a new one.. so I put everything back together and I added the dieletric grease. I'm sure am happy to find the problem.. and to get it straighten out..

Do you have a link to that thread BubbaJon? I am interested in heading this problem off at the pass. I put a lot of miles on my scooters each year. I would just as soon address this issue now before it strands me somewhere.

Sorry...I had the thread open and got distracted doing something else in the middle of writing my question. He posted the link during that time. I just hit submit and walked away. Sure made me look dumb though

Thanks for the link BubbaJon. I will get crackin' on this after I get back from Amerivespa.

Dumb question, but why not simply Bypass the switch, thereby eliminating it from the system?

Seems this would solve the nusance of "5 alarms at startup" while still retaining normal tilt-lock operation, assuming you maintain proper bleeding of the system over time... Worst case is that your tilt-system is mushy from being non-bleed.

Thoughts?

Safety. Not a good idea IMHO.

Phillip the tilt lock low pressure switch need's to be replaced.. The switch developed very small crack's on the inside letting fluid in from pressure .. I try'ed cleaning it out and throwing in some dielectric grease but it didn't hold up and it pop the fuse again. Did you take the panel's off to take a look to see if you have the same problem ?
