My GTV 250 max speed is no more then 73mph, and very difficult to get this speed.
So I digged out here trying to figure out why, onlything I havn't check it air filter cleaning.

Today seems to be good day for doing that, I following video instuction from wiki, soon as I unscrewed couple air filter cabinet screws, oil start to dripping and more unscrewed more oil came out, almost straming out, I have to place oil pan to underneath.
pretty much good half pint of oil came out from there.
and I sqeezed a more oil out of from sponge filter also.
Is this normal?

I cleaning off oil from filter and cabinet, I found some dirt and rocks compounded on bottom of inside cabinet, it is hard stuck I have to use screw driver to break off.

Finally most oil clean and dry out filter, I have 50:50 gas and oil mix here for ready to apply filter.
How much amount do I need to apply?

Thank you always.

not normal
That much oil in the air filter and housing is not normal. I'm not an expert but it would seem possible to be sucking oil into the engine through the air intake. I use a spray on filter oil. Seems to work ok and you are not putting too much oil/gas mixture into the filter. I use FAB- got it from Scooter west

Keep it sticky.
I like to keep my filter just wet enough to make dirt stick. Anything more is just wasting oil.

I saturate the foam filter with a 50/50 mix then wring it out, hang it so any excess mix drips out, wring out the area where the mix was dripping

To see if you have enough 50/50 mixture on the foam filter pinch the filter with two fingers and your fingers should be slightly oily

Thank you for all reply.

Either I thought it is not a normal.

I think my gtv starting slower after oil change.

Month ago it was not to time for change, I was replace my tires from one of local motorcycle shop(not a vespa auth services center), shop owner ask me oil change.

At that time my vespa miliege was 1300 going on, and when I purchase from 800 miles on, previous owner said has been done 600 miles services, but didn't have paper works to confirm, So I decided to change oil, because I have long riding plan for next week from that.

Shop guy did good job for tire and exhaust gasket replaced, but maybe not much knowledge of vespa.
