(sorry for the localized thread).
Hi Southern Ontario folks.
I'm fast approaching my 20,000km service interval and was wondering if there is a general consensus among my fellow MP3 riders in the area on who has the most experienced/best MP3 mechanics?
I purchased my 2010 MP3 500 at the start of last year from Motoretta (College St.) and i have nothing but great things to say about Clyde and all the other people i've dealt with there. They have been really good to me- so this inquiry isn't a reflection on them at all.
My problem is - getting the scooter down there is a bit of a hassle- and i'm really busy at work right now (with extremely tight deadlines)- so any time that i am not wasting, sitting in downtown traffic, is time that i really need. Even saving an hr or two would be beneficial to me a.t.m. I don't want to push past the service interval and i'm not even sure when the workload is going to let up- so i'm looking to pick the brains of locals who have had good experiences with other shops that are a little closer to me (or more convenient to get a ride for dropoff/pickup).
I live up in Mono (east of Orangeville) and commute to work in Oakville (just over an hour drive each way).
I'm currently split between taking it to Corsa Mechanica, or Vespa West- but still haven't ruled out venturing into the downtown core to drop it off at Motoretta, or somewhere else if there are others closer/better that i'm not aware of.
Any advice, suggestions, warnings, offers, criticism, sarcasm and/or entertaining verbal abuse would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS- special thanks (from a long-time lurker)- to all unique characters who selflessly share their knowledge, experience, and wisdom here on a regular basis. This forum is absolutely great!

No disrespect to George at Corsa Mecanica but I LOVE the service at Vespa West. Nick, their tech is great! Lou and Angie are so personable. Pricing is fair and the turnaround is perfect. It's a bit of a haul for me but I find their shop smaller and more focused on Piaggio. Just my 2ยข

Diddo's for me as well, Toronto is lucky to have some great shops but for me it's Vespa west . Lou and the crew have gone the extra mile for me more than once.

Cheers,
Tross

Thanks for the input guys. Really appreciate it.
Out of curiosity- do you guys see a lot of other MP3s around?
I've yet to see another one out on the road. One of my co-workers saw one at the Tim H around the corner from our office---but other than that--not a sighting by anyone that i know of.
Then again- i haven't went to any of the TMSC meets or any of the GTAM group rides either.
Might be cool to organize an MP3 get together sometime before the end of the season- if there are enough interested?
We could really freak out the locals.
Sometimes my wife drives behind me in her car and says it is hilarious to watch the reactions as people see the scoot and drop jaws/freak out as i drive past.
One day we were sitting on the patio at a coffee shop in Orangeville, away from the bike, and an older man walked past it in the parking lot---staring at the scooter...he stopped for a sec...looked at it....kept walking...stopped again...then kept walking and staring... and started cranking his head as he walked by it so he could keep looking....finally....with his neck cranked around as far as it could go...shook his head....NO.NO.NO....with a look of confusion and mild disgust he walked away mumbling... It was AWESOME.
I can just imagine what a group of the machines would do...hahah

I see some around when I ride. The big surprise was seeing one on hwy 2 in Brighton, ont. When I was on the way to Montreal this weekend, and it's not like they were on there way to the mad bastard rally, they where going the other way.

Cheers,
Tross

I've had a disappointing experience at Motoretta (overcharged me for replacing the rear tire) and great service from George at Corsa which is where I go from now on. Can't speak for Vespa West as I haven't been, but hear nothing but good things.

As for other MP3's, I've seen lots in the downtown core - 3 park close by to my workplace on a daily basis and I've seen a few others while riding - mostly downtown though. When I went for my motorcycle license test, I was even surprised to see another MP3 taking the test with me
