Modern Vespa

i have a vespa super 150 1968 . it was firing up last week but when started to go along it just started spluttering and now it wont even start. i have tried a new spark plug but nothing coming from it anyone any ideas as know scooter shop round here wont touch it because of the age? the scooter is running on 6volt so could this be the
coil ?
condensor?
or stator plates
but when i do try to start it the lights do start to glow.

Has it ever run properly? You can add suspect fuel to the list.

First check for spark at the plug. If you're not getting any, work your way up, spark plug cap, wire, coil, points, condenser, wiring, switch, etc... Good Luck.

If you are sure the fuel is not contaminated,
Check that it will run without the fuel cap on the vent may be blocked, check for spark.
If no spark check points and condenser.

What part of herts are you in.

Are you saying fuel is good/new, or you have already determined that all your jets and lines are free of debris and fuel is flowing properly?

hi yes all fuel is new and also fuel is flowing through ok and cark is clean and new . the problem is no spark at al from plug

Odd suggestion here, would be to stand a portable radio next to the bike on the FM channel tuned to an area clear of stations, you should get an audible crack when the points open, it is away of checking if you are generating a spark at all.

Ok bit hard without much of a back story but here goes.......

no spark.... start easy, new plug (which you have done) check plug cap and lead if there all good then clean the points.

a bit of a back story would be good.... was the scoot running nice then gave up or has it always been hard to start? I had a scoot that ran fine till everything got warm and the condenser gave up once cooled down it would run again also had a sim problem with a ht lead that had a very small split in it.
