"But when we showed the same video to Cycle School instructor Victor Moss, he said Stubbs' client and his fellow riders were not riding safely and were asking for trouble.

"No question about it, he let his bad judgment get the better of him," Moss said.

Moss said the motorcyclists should never have boxed in the car like they did in the video."

I agree, looks like the riders were harassing the cager. Maybe the cager wasn't enraged, maybe they felt intimidated/frightened and were trying to get away from the riders.

Can't tell for sure from the video, but that's how it looked to me.

Wow! That was a deliberate hit regardless. Never good when a rider goes down. I hope the rider was wearing gear and is OK.

Regardless of who ever is in the "right" in those situations, everyone needs to back off, slow down and calm down.

+1. Looks like enough bad behavior to go around for everyone.

Why do some lawyers really like bow ties? Don't get me wrong, they are a fine fashion statement and I do appreciate them. I just feel that when sporting a bow tie you are taken less seriously, and if I were his client I would want the jury to take him very seriously.

Better then a bolo I guess.. Razz emoticon

This is one of those videos and threads that makes me grateful for my teachings from Jess when I was a wee grasshopper.

OMG I want to say so much about this video however I was taught better.

Best,

First of all, I would like to say that the driver of the car did not handle the situation well and hitting ANYONE with a car is wrong, and a bad idea.

That said, I do not have any real sympathy for those motorcycle riders. I live on Grand Blvd. in St. Louis, and day after day after day I see gangs of young guys, sometimes with a girl on the back, on sport bikes, speeding up and down the road, in groups of 10 or more, popping wheelies and purposefully surrounding and harassing drivers. I see it with my own eyes all of the time. They create very dangerous situations, and they are aggressive towards people in cars. Frankly, I would not give a crap if they get hurt. I don't care if they get paralyzed.... what I do care about is that they could hurt innocent people. Sorry if I sound harsh, but I see it daily, it scares the crap out of me, and I wish the cops would come down on the little bastards.

"...my teachings from Jesus" was not what you wrote. I realized that the second time I read it.

Jessus?

Edit: I re-viewed the video a few times. It's still very hard to tell exactly what happened, except that the rider cut in front of the driver just off his front bumper, then the Cavalier moved to the right lane while colliding with the rider. I have no clue why a rider would cut that close in front of a moving car.

The riding instructor commented that the riders were acting unsafely by boxing in the driver. But according to the riders, they did that after the collision to make the driver stop while calling the police, but it seems they were doing that before the collision.

It's really hard to tell who's at fault by the video, as it could have been edited by the rider who may have deleted incriminating behavior of the riders. I hope we see how this plays out.

Hard to tell but it did look like the car hit the MC intentionally. Also the other riders could of boxed the car in so he couldn't get away. Gonna be a tough call but hopefully justice will be served to the wrong doer. We went on a long ride with some cafe racers and the cops pulled over the back three bikes and said "they looked like they were going fast". Wha? emoticon Prejudices abound it seems. Hope the rider heals and everyone learns from this.

Better said than done! But the older I get the easier it becomes for me to keep my cool. We are talking about a mercurial hot latin American temper here. It has sometimes felt like a complete curse to me. I am more vocal than physical though. Add to to that 20 years of well socialized American culture.
