Dear all,

I recently took the challenge of changing the front light bulb of my LXV 125. When I tried to put the wiring back and etc. it dawned on me that I am not sure if I put everything back in the same order.

I mean, I don't know if the light is not upside down, and if the wiring is correct.

Right now, the result is:

As I turn on the bike (and the headlight), only the upper half of the reflector seems to light up (together with the small lamp there is), and when I put on full beam, it lights the whole reflector.

Is that correct?

Other detail: how do I know the beam it is in the right height?

Thank you everyone!

Is the small light inside your headlight at the top? If so, your headlight reflector assembly is upside down.

hello ckaiserca

thank you for replying.

Below, the pictures from the setup I have right now

The small lamp is below, as you suggested, but my concern is the position of the lamp socket, and the behaviour of the light in relation to the switch position.

Thank you for all help!

Hello,
first of all thank you for having visited my blog and for your compliments

Then,
the light bulb inside the front light has two arms inside. They are connected to different portion of the spring resistor which produces the light, so they have different lengths.
Take a look at them: the long one has to be on the upper part of the lamp, i.e. towards the sky and the short one has to be on the lower part of the lamp, i.e. facing the pavement.

The unit I see in your pictures is correctly mounted. Just check the bulb as I described to see if the socket is reversed.

Sorry I can't check right now but my Vespa has a battery failure so the light won't turn on!

To know if the height is correct (i.e. if you're flashing other people or not) there is a guide for alignment in the owner's manual. Just put your Vespa in front of a wall and check heights as suggested. I can't remember exact distance/height.

Have fun!

Ale-

Amazing information, Alemelo!

That was exactly what I was trying to find on the internet (and in manuals, etc) and could not. Now I believe I can finish my doubts!

For the height, thank you again. I found the LXV125 workshop manual in one of your threads, and now I can ajust it!

Good luck in fixing you Chuggabug, and
see you around!

(thank you ckaiserca as well!)
