Today in grown-up land: adjusting the arm and seat height of each other's office chairs whenever anyone leaves the room

Got the scooter back today, with a new oil sensor and spark plug. I'll have to go back next week to get the new front tyre fitted.

I found a reasonable old fashioned diner today on the top of a hill in Kent.

so, the foxes have discovered the drain and grease trap outside my kitchen door. for the past several nights they've amused themselves by pulling off the grating, pulling out the grease trap, and carrying blobs of grease onto the lawn and patio, where they spread them about in a spirited fashion. ugh

i put an end to their activities by placing a brick over the grating. i came out this morning to find the following response:

Up and down all night with a vomiting child - one of the special delights reserved for parents. It could be a long day.

Brain cells functioning: 2
Yawn count already: 12
Work deadlines today: 8

Roll on the weekend

This Sunday I will be mostly strolling around in the sunshine watching folk dressed in 1940's gear and excitedly waiting for the Lanc and Spitfire to buzz us.......oh, and there's military vehicles, bikes, vintage cars, etc

Well they are a bit tough but I'm sure a wallop with a meat mallet, - the spiked end- and a tenderise in buttermilk and spices overnight, coating of fine breadcrumbs with cayenne and paprika and 4 mins finely sliced in boiling oil might work?

we visited the Hackney Wicked festival today - walked from my place to Fish Island to see a rather indifferent exhibition in the gallery atop Forman's. Forman's salmon is delicious but they need to fire their curator. After that we wandered around a lot of nice studio spaces pointing at the art, stroking our chins, and passing comment.

We walked back via Scootech so that Birreh could get a new license plate made up (the old one had the wrong number on it....). Who should walk in but Ashbrook, concerned that his GTS had developed a worrying wobble. A test ride by Ian the mechanic confirmed that the wobbling was all in Andy's head, but not before we had gone down the road to the local coffee shop for lattes, brownies, and cake. It turned out that nobody was interested in the brownies, and Ash didn't want to take them home, so Birreh and I will be having raspberry brownies for breakfast - excellent way to fuel up before a long run.

I've had a wet rag laid over the front of the legshield of the scooter for most of the afternoon, soaking off the French flies that are stuck all over it. With luck the rain this evening will rinse the rest of their remains away. Tomorrow we polish!
