In other news...big Yay! in the workshop earlier, as with a little guidance from the NSM guys, I split the casings on the GTR engine with no damage. This is scooter geek heaven, as I can get to the engine internals now, a key step in the engine rebuild |

It happened! jimc and Ivana Tinkle are now joined at the hip. Pic below.
Very quick but moving ceremony. I was rather touched by it - misty-eyed and all that. Just as it should be. I congratulated my new MIL for nurturing one of the most 'difficult and different' (originally MIL's words) women imaginable, and I have to say I'm so very pleased finally to be married to her. Excellent pub lunch followed - we're now back home in our sweats looking at the beer supply for the rest of the afternoon and evening and realising we'll have to weave up the road to get some more. If anyone should take the blame for today's event it should be Al (Aviator47) who organised the 2010 Bella Italia Rally, and the Hornet. Al - you owe me a pint - I owe the Hornet a gallon or two.

Congratulations to both of you! I remember seeing Jim in Abilene with Irvana and both looked very happy. Nothing at all in common with the grumpy old git from years before on MV!
All the best! |

glory
Today we visited a vintage boot fair and classic car show on the South Bank at the suggestion of my friend Chris who was exhibiting is Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
Chris is a bit of a dandy so both he and his new girlfriend dressed in period costumes as did many of the exhibitors. What a pair of tarts. At least 30 vintage Vespas and Lambrettas turned up as well as an Innocenti Mini, a Morris Minor Police car and 3 Messerschmits. Chris also has a purple Camargue which is fresh out of Thunderbirds and it's just huge but sadly that had to stay at home. Pictures will follow at a later date. Genie tried on clothes. Birreh. |
