Keen Cyclists

I'm planning on doing the C2C (coast to coast) cycle ride later on in the year. Does anyone have any useful advice? The following areas: accommodation and the logistics of getting the car to the end point are the bits giving most problems at the moment!

It's a week of coincidences

Jack is a great name for a ferret. The only funnier one I could think of would be Greg.

cheers i had a great time skiing but for two things...

on about day two, i contracted a horrible cold/flu from which i'm still recovering. stubborn ass that i am, I took massive quantities of weird austrian cold/flu medication and carried right on skiing. result: i arrived home a total wreck, having lost about half a stone and intractable cold still in place. i've had to buy cough syrup with morphine in it

too many people and too many children. when we started going on the ski trip together, we rented a chalet for about 20 people. gradually we've kept on renting larger and larger chalets until this year, we wound up with 40 people (friends of friends of friends, etc.), including a dozen children under 10. it was chaos we realised that maximum economy of scale had been reached ... so next year's limit has been set at 20 adults.

I hope you didn't breath on Bill when he collected you. You know how susceptible he is to foreign infection.

One of these days I'm going to have brother and sister ferrets and call them Dweezil and Moon Unit. Then the boy will be Dweezil the Weasel. Hopefully he won't rip my flesh

it appears that the passive-aggressive git who had been leaving their cigarette butts on my floorboards some months back is back at it again they're not actually putting out the cigarettes on the scooter, or interfering with it in any way that I can see ... just leaving the butts on the floorboards. weird.

It is a beautiful sunny day here. Great riding weather. Again. I am off work this week, but my Uni deadline and a lack of planning on my part means 16 hour days with the books and keyboard until Monday. Humph Who's great idea was it to do this again? Oh yeh, mine

I can have a minute in the warmth of the sun through the window though, and the postman has just bought me a litre of engine oil for the GTS (so my service parts are complete) and a rare soul record from the US...

The same thing was happening to me not long ago (at work), when I found out who it was (I caught him in the act) I told him that if it ever happened again that I would use a shocking amount of physical violence......

It worked.... No more cigarette butts on my scoot

i don't leave the camera on all the time, its mere presence has thus far been enough of a deterrent - but i think i'll start switching it on again.

i can't imagine what - pathetic jealousy? borderline personality disorder? - would motivate somebody to go to the trouble of coming into the front garden just for the purpose of leaving their fag butt on my scooter. they also appear to smoke a variety of different kinds of cigarette - i've found roll-ups, marlborough lights, and a brown cigarillo-type thing.

I would think of it a little differently. If you are finding lots of different fag ends then it suggests that there is more than one person, and if it is next to your house, more than one visitor to your block of flats.

If your neighbours don't allow visitors to smoke in their flat, I would imagine it is more than of one of their (inconsiderate) guests. Your scooter is nice, but if no one else is fiddling with it, then I doubt that you have someone coming to stare at it.

Ah, multiple perps. Some kind of teen dare or local hobby for delinquents...?
