Hope she loves the scooter, Kate. It took Nina a while to get the hang of hers (she wasn't such a daredevil when younger, and in combination with an excellent capacity for daydreaming that made for a few low speed offs), but now she's pretty good with it, and it means that she can keep up with us when we're on a walk.
It was also a lifesaver when we were on holiday in Autumn. We'd planned a holiday that meant we were carrying all our bags and mainly touring round on trains, swapping towns every night or two. We got a "lead*" for it, and it meant that we could keep her "to heel*" when we were negotiating busy train stations and cities with our hands full.
*She's not a dog, honestly. I know the difference between dogs and children. Dogs are more obedient
