If you decide you'd rather do after lunch or lunchtime give me a shout, either on here or by phone. I might just do the AOR on Saturday as well, if I can be bothered to get up early.... not done one before and it's about time. Ashbrook, I might be keeping you company. If you want me to meet you around the Kidbrook/A20 area (I'll be coming through the tunnel) let me know.
I assume you are going through town as opposed to on the M25-What's your ETA for Kidbrooke?

I've had their jackets before - excellent value, they last a good two years of heavy all-year abuse.

Well done Orla getting Mum and Dad to get you a scooter.

No, town to Reigate Hill is a major pain. Will go via A20 M25

Aiming for 9am ish at Kidbrooke Pk Rd

Don't laugh too much - but seeing one of those scooters was the tipping point for me getting my MP3. I had wondered about getting one for years, and then I saw a kid about 1/10th my age whizzing past on the pavement while I was stuck in traffic. I thought that if even a foetus gets to have one, I'm damn well not missing out!

The order was placed a few days later.

it's in hornchurch just up the road from Doug, and just around the corner from kitty!

i looked in Plumstead but I didn't fancy all those hills - and there is simply nothing on the market there at the moment. this one's pretty much ready to move into (although I've got plans to extend the kitchen). 2 beds, upstairs bathroom, living room, dining room, and a finished loft room! there's a driveway out front for Girlfrond - a big eye bolt will be going into the front of the house to keep her safe. here are a few pics....

it's in lovely condition. the owners have done loads to it - solid oak floor in the kitchen, living room, and dining room, completely rewired, loft boarded and finished, with a velux ... it was on the market before christmas, and the sale fell through, but before it did, the buyer had a full structural survey done ... so i know it's completely sound. all i'll need is a homebuyer's report, which will save me ££££

i'm not sure what that means, style-wise. giant hoop earrings? a side ponytail?? i know when i went in to see the agent with my financial bumf, there wasn't a turned-up-trouser-cuff-and-brogues to be seen i felt like a hipster out of water.

i'm sure it's going to feel like living on the moon for a while, but it's actually really well connected to central london - i can be on the central line in about 15 minutes, and into central london in another 20.

cheers i'm so RELIEVED to be done with the property search thing, it was draining me more than I'd ever imagined ... i got the call from the agent while i was on a train back from Cardiff... squeaked with joy (I was in the quiet carriage) then promptly fell asleep.

i think the side gate is actually just a tiny bit too narrow to fit the scooter through - anyway, the shed will be holding all my gardening stuff.

i haven't had a bath, or even a bathroom window, for 13 years. it's going to take some getting used to Razz emoticon

My side gate was also too narrow for a GTS. It did go through though. You just had to wiggle a little bit from side to side to get the handlebars in. Think filtering and it will fit...

no chain on either end, which is a giant bonus. if everything goes to plan i should be in there in about 6-8 weeks. yikes

i'll probably leave the scooter out front - it'd be a right pain to have to wiggle it in and out of the back garden every day.

It does look like it would fit through with a little wiggle. I think I'd prefer the inconvenience over the added risk leaving it out front. The lack of chain is a real bonus. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly.

Buyers are the chain. Genie isn't selling so no downward link, if the seller isn't buying then there's also no upward link. The more links the more likely the sale could collapse.

Congratulations - looks like the perfect tardis. And in lovely condition so that you can concentrate on what you want in the place, rather than what you need.

Please, please don't do what I did - looking at what you could get for the same money in other parts of the UK. Serious risk of drowning in your own tears, believe me...

Been there already Razz emoticon I console myself by a) looking at what I could get in my present neighbourhood for the same money (moldy 400 sq foot flat sans garden) and b) realising that although I could buy something twice this size elsewhere in the country, I wouldn't be able to afford to heat it

Last night I bribed a friend to come and see The Grand Budapest Hotel with me.

No regrets as it was totally and utterly amazing.

The most original, funny and inventive movie I've seen in years and Ray Fiennes is just amazing in the lead role.

Go see it.
