Forth of Fifth
Off to meet up with Noel in an hour or so then off to Bristol to do the same with MartinB and Dr Zoidberg.
There's a celebration of Italian motoring exotica in the town centre today so I'm pretty certain there will be much pointing and chin stroking. Bill x |

Rule of Two
It is Easter which means the island is infested with hundreds of off island cars and rental cars driven by off islanders. They all drive applying the "Rule of Two":
Multiple or divide (your choice) the speed limit by two and drive at that speed. Makes for interesting driving. Can't wait for Tuesday, when sanity will return, at least until tourist season picks up. |

It was much brighter for my journey home - just a couple of degrees less than I'd like but nowhere near as chilly as I was on the way down.

Pair of Bristols
Not a bad day out chaps was it ?
I had a lovely ride in the warmer air but boy did I see a while load of accidents on my journey plus load of people on the hard shoulders with ruined tyres. Not punctures as such just ruined tyres. Noel and I saw a transit van park on the armco barrier and a Rav 4 on it's side then close to Genie's a scooter laying in the road with a police cordon around it. Turns out it was there 3 hours earlier when she took the same route home so that doesn't look good. Bill xxx ⚠️ Last edited by Bill Dog on UTC; edited 1 time

Did anyone get the picture of us standing with Jonathan Meades now I've finally remembered his name.
Yes, really too cold to enjoy it on the way down but close to perfect on the way back. Thanks all for coming. Bill xxx |

What a week!
Mrs BB's birthday on Tuesday, so I took the day off and we had a very indulgent lunch, followed by circus at The Roundhouse. Then all day packing on Weds, as a prelude to moving house on Thurs. Fri involved a LOT of unpacking, whilst trying to keep our 4 yr old occupied (with something other than causing chaos). Today we reckoned that we all needed a treat, so early morning trip to the Matisse exhibition at Tate Modern (and a whizz round the Richard Hamilton again; it grows on me with repetition), then the sushi lunch that darling daughter had been pleading for, and had thoroughly deserved for being so patient during the house move, and back for more light unpacking and trying to decide which pictures go on which walls. A lot of fun, but everyone ready for an early night. Happy Easter to Skoks everywhere xxx |

Had a nice day with LAM today. Got lost in Bromley (yet again) on the way there, but still arrived in time for a bacon roll. Yum. Allocated to another trainee observer and a senior who was also ROSPA cert'ed. Much better ride today, felt confident and smooth; the day ended with me being told to go and book my advanced test. Looking forward to the Norfolk Residential Weekend next week.

Between workshop scoot work, wood flooring and decorating this weekend, I've been working on the routes and overnights for Italy. Good job given its only 7 weeks away now Here's one contender for our 2nd night in the Aosta Valley in NW Italy, after we cross over the border from Switzerland, past several locations used in 'The Italian Job'.

Productive
Spent most of the day at the V and A Museum checking out an exhibition on Italian Design ( with a Vespa VVB thrown in for good luck ) then on to another about the Victorian Architect William Kent.
Sadly the wedding dress exhibition was closed it seemed. or least we couldn't find the entrance ! Later, because we are precious we tried 5 different coffee shops until we found one that suited us. Tomorrow there will be much running. Bill xxx |

birreh and I did 11 miles today - a distance we've done many times before with no problems... but today it felt horrible i actually had to walk it at the 10-mile point, which felt like a big cop out. to be fair, this is the first time i've done this distance since february (took weeks to recover from an upper respiratory infection), but i'd hoped it would go a bit better than it did. bah!

Isabella plantation
Went to Richmond Park the other evening and walked through the Isabella Plantation and came across this little gem. Well worth a visit.
The light was just perfect on the water and the new growth on the bushes opposite was a photo opportunity, unfortunately my phone camera can't do it justice. but here's some anyway. The other half tried to brighten it up. [no it's not real fur] Then we got a nice lady to take this one, to ruin it completely. just for you bill a nice happy one ⚠️ Last edited by terryvanman on UTC; edited 1 time
