Modern Vespa

I decided to take advantage of the great MV discount offer from Brian @ CoolAss, and it couldn't have come at a better time! Temps in the South SF Bay area have been in the upper 90s all week. Mine arrived yesterday (Friday, ordered Wednesday) tightly packed in a box. It comes with its own storage pouch, and they threw in a CoolAss coozy for my adult beverages after a ride - Cool!

I tried it out today on a short hop over to the new location for San Jose Vespa. Their freshly-paved, blacktop parking lot was in full-sun and was scorching hot. I parked, put my new seat cover on, and went inside for 30 minutes or so to check the new place out. Upon returning to my bike, I put my helmet and gloves on, then removed the cover and hopped right on. The seat was as cool as if it had been parked in an underground garage - amazing.

Thanks so much to Brian @ CoolAss for the great communication along the way and for such a great product. My only regret is that I didn't order one sooner!

Yah great product. I have been taking mine to work and the scooter sits in the sun all day as the is no shade in our parking lot and the seat is barely warm plus it is protected from UV rays which will destroy the seat material.

I ordered one when I saw they were goving a deal to MV members.

It hasn't arrived yet, but I wanted to give props to Brian for stepping up and personally taking care of processing my order when the his paypal vendor account wouldn't ship my order to an Israel address.

[this is a common issue, where paypal default settings for vendors often preclude shipping to a host of countries... and the vendors don't discover it until someone complains]

Hopfully they've had a word with Paypal and have sorted the problem.

I like the added benefit that the Cool Ass cover is water proof too....unlike the cover stuffed in the underside of the seat. Cool & dry.

Yep, I bought another one myself - arrived earlier thus week and is tucked away on the BV.

Everything you mentioned has proved to be true to me. With the added advantage of comfort which is the raisons d'etre. More Gallicisms anyone?

Brian's the best. I've been using Cool Ass for 2 or 3 years now.

It is an excellent product. I have owned mine for the last 4 years. It is on my GTS right now as I sit in a coffee shop having an iced Americano.

Edit has anyone ever had it on while riding?

MIKE he can't make them again because the only place that anybody gets it is in North America. Everywhere else doesn't have the sticker. I think he actually losses money on them. MA i did one in a torrential downpour. They get a tad slippery so i wouldn't do it. Mine was broken in so it wasn't that bad. Should i have done it? No.

I would LOVE a "No Pets" one! Pretty please, this would be great. Bring 'em back.

I wear a dress to work and it was very hot yesterday. I bought a seat cover as soon as I started reading this post. I was wondering if it was really necessary but I got convinced. Thanks for the info.

Just ordered another one---THANKS, BRIAN!---so I'll have a backup just in case. I can't imagine summer on the Texas Gulf Coast without my CoolAss!

Anybody know if it will fit over my sheepskin?
It would be great to leave the sheepskin on for riding coolness/comfort and add the coolass to keep the rain/sun off.

I'm sure Brian has a size that will work and cover the sheepskin. Just call or email and tell him what you want to do and he'll help, I'm sure.

The Vespa sized one - no but you can buy bigger ones for larger scooters/bikes like the one I have for the BV. It would fit over a sheepskin on a Vespa stock seat. Measure with the sheepskin and pick the appropriate size based on those measurements.

My cover has been mysteriously recovered from its ashes Someone off the Mainland watching over me. I forgot mine at home yesterday and did not enjoy it very much. I could have fried an egg on my seat. Still looking for my Monkey's Butt powder. It is ***expletive*** sore! I only had one stranger ask me why I had my scooter covered in Mylar paper many, many months ago. I was mad! Changing subject that cover should come standard with EVERY Piaggio scooter.

Danny you should of gotten to me sooner. The last one is going out today. He only had 14. I gave some to the guys over here who didn't get one the first time and then the rest went to people who either asked or i knew didn't have one. Mines looking a tad crumpled but it's still good. If i can get Brian to find some more your first on the list. I'm so sorry and now i feel bad.

Oh, Judy, please don't feel bad. I'm glad some who never had one were able to get them. Like others, I wish Brian could make some more. But business is business and if there is little or no profit to be made, one's efforts are better used elsewhere.

Danny thanks and they did go to people who never had one.yes I wish he could do another run but I don't think he made little or no money on these. We're the only ones that has that sticker ( Canada too maybe). If other countries had idiots like ours we'd probably have another run

I got one of Judy's "No Pets" Cool Ass covers. Thank you SO much!!! Could not have happened at a better time as the heat indexes here have been around 100F for a few days now. And boy does it WORK (and look really cool!)

I would remove it while riding, it would be rather slippery.

To answer my own question... the GTS sized CoolAss does fit over my Ikea sheepskin brilliantly.
Incredible delivery time and the personal touch from Brian is superb.
Just in time for a central Florida road trip and I can park anywhere I want.

As soon as I learn to operate an IPAD, I'll send pics here and to CoolAss website.
