Seriously, or that drive belt fails in west Texas along I-10, with hundreds of miles in either direction between towns, and a lone, dead armadillo on the side of the road for "local color."

Really? You just can't let these fears stop you from having fun.

I have had several exhaust gaskets fail, the last one in North Carolina on the way home from Robbinsville, but I fixed it in 15 minutes while my riding buddies ate lunch.

My belt failure was coming off of I-95 after about twenty miles of wide open throttle with a failing belt. I made it to within three blocks of Boris' warehouse repair shop so it turned out fine. I always carry a spare on long rides. You can repair it yourself with proper tools or find any repair shop that can do everything as long as you have the belt. It might take a while but a great ride is worth it.

And Sticky, I would like to go too. Would enjoy riding over with you if it is ok.

I've crossed west Texas at least a half dozen times though I prefer US and state highways to I-10. So far never a problem but I do make sure the scoot has its maintenance before I depart. I did run out of gas when a problem with the exhaust dropped the mpg on the BV from 60ish to 40mpg. It died within sight of a gas station - about a half mile but fortunately my husband was not far away in the car and was able to fetch me a gallon of gas otherwise it would have been a long hot push of the scoot or waiting for AAA.

Some of the LA crew on our ride down. We took the coastal route. A very smooth, pretty ride but with breaks and hitting rush hour traffic in SD, about 7.5 hours.

New Orleans.
We live in this GIANT beautiful country and we can't get a different location for Amerivespa that it hasn't been in the past few years?
.
The locations aren't arbitrarily selected and it's not just based on geography. It takes a huge amount of local resources to pull off something like this. The locals do most of the planning and organizing.

Want it in your city?
  1. Contact the VCOA to find out what the qualifications for consideration are.
  2. Get the local clubs and organizations to work with the local shops.
  3. Put on a successful rally for a few years to show you can organize something this massive.
  4. Submit a bid to VCOA.

Nice. Thanks for putting those up.

It was short, but a great time.

I was hanging out with Phil at rt66 about a month ago.

He has so many good things to say about you.

He's funny. Great scoot history stories.

How did everyone like ScooterWest? Are they as nice as they are online and on the telephone?

In my case, YES! I went there with a shopping list, and when I showed it to one of the guys, he said, "come on back!" And I got to go back into the stockroom and pull my stuff!
Then, when I asked about the possibility of someone putting my new dogleg brake levers on for me, one of the shop guys said, sure, I can do that, and put them on then and there! I was so excited!
The guys at Vespa Motorsports aka Scooterwest, are great. They will go above & beyond, & they'll never try to sell you something you don't need.
