can someone tell me what this plastic piece is for? it came with my GT200 but was not attached to anything. my scoot came with a back case, so i'm thinking it had something to do with that addition. pictures are below.

It's the battery tray. It is possible your GT originally came with a YTX-10 open cell battery and has been upgraded to a YTX-12 battery in which case that tray potentially was replaced with a smaller one because that one would no longer fit.

thanks to both of you. i will check that out and see and report back. the battery replacement would make sense as i don't know why the tray would have been taken out otherwise.

just checked. it is a YTX14-BS battery in my scoot, so i am assuming it is a replacement and that answers the mystery of why the battery tray has been replaced. thanks a bunch!
