metal is not really a good material to rest your dirty feet on. Rubber is much better for that. Metal will not provide much grip and will scratch.
As a result there are no "top shelf" suppliers, all you get is those selling sparkle with no substance. As for style, these became "popular" on bodges to the point were some people think it actually looks good, and I guess it kind of does if you don't plan to use the bike. |

I used to think the Vietbodges looked good. But after seeing a few up close and personal they just look clownish and cheap to me.
