Hello all. My first time posting in the General forums, as I'm usually found on the MP3 board.

A bunch of people are still riding the high from last week's Amerivespa in San Diego... I know I am. It was great fun, and I can't wait for next year's in New Orleans!

Eric mentioned that a number of people did a ride from California to New Orleans for Amerivespa 2011, and a group of us are interested in doing (attempting) the same next year.

For those of you who made the ride - how was it? How long did it take? What route did you take (I'm assuming the 10 all the way)? Any bits of wisdom you can spread our way?

Any information, tips, and tricks you can provide would be much appreciated.

... can't wait. And I hope to see some of you folks there.

I'll be following along in this post. NOLA is on the list for me already. I'll finally get to see AF1's headquarters.

There must be some detour around Houston...(only to avoid the rumored 18 lane freeway)

Send jhop a message. He was one of the riders from CA to NOLA so I'm sure he'll be happy to contribute to this thread. Prepare for a very hot and long ride. I think they did 3 or 4 days.
