Hi all!
I am a 6'5" tall and skinny guy and ride a PX Vespa and enjoy long walks on the beach...
Jokes aside, I currently have the block-style standard seat (with crome rear handles) on my PX here in Germany. I like it in that I can sit all the way back (to where my back hits the chrome bar in the rear) and can duck down on occasion for less wind resistance, etc. and if I need too, can slide back up to the front when I am 2-up (still single, kinda important).
I would however like to get rid of the standard seat for something a bit newer, maybe more sporty/sleek looking and have looked at some of the Ancillotti seats and realized that there probably would be less room to slide back? Is that true? Also, this would be even more difficult than the standard seat to ride 2-up, right?
A picture for reference of the seat I am considering (from SIP):

Now as a possible alternative, to really get the best of both worlds, I am considering this seat I found on Ebay, by way of Scooter-Center.com

Apparently, according to Soulscooter, this design was based on a seat that was developed for the Taiwan market back in the 1960s and was used to replace the somewhat "boring" block Italian version.

Does anyone have an experiences with this particular seat or low-profile seat style? Any tips on this seat or maybe other seats that would suit my needs?
I really like the looks of the Ancillotti style seats, but I think as far as needs and comfort goes, it may be a step in the opposite direction of what I want.

Thanks all, and greetings from Germany!

- Chris

"Well hi there big boy"

That was the funniest post open I've heard in a while, good work.

I had that Ancelloti on a P200 and loved it. I'm not 6'5" though. Maybe 5'11".

I guess you guys/girls who are long in the legs really have to be able to shop around. As in have friends that have different seats that you can try on for minute.

I remember the stock P seat was to long for me to sit back on. The anceloti was perfect.

I'm 6'4" and skinny and I like the stock seat and getting caught in the rain. Razz emoticon

Thought about a sport seat but had the same worries but that SIP one actually looks pretty reasonable. Steep enough in the back that I don't think you'd lose too much room when riding solo. Those seats are just not designed for 2 up.

long leg solution
You could always do what this guy did, then maybe seat choice would be a little easier.

Vader has found the best sport seat out there, I cant remember where it's sold or how much it costs. Maybe he could chime in.

Its nice but its stiffish and he ain't 6'5".

The second one at the top of the page looks well fitted for someone long in the leg.

True I'm not 6'5, but I do like to sit Way back towards the back... and my seat is very long until the rear "ass holding hump" comes on... It probably pefect for a tall guy IF he wants a small lift in the rear to keep him from sliding off the back... if not, he should simply get a bench seat that's flat throughout the entire length of the seat so he can scooch All the way back.. as far as possible.. he may run the risk of pooping err popping off the back end though..

Or... the Scooter Center one with the chrome trim strip is probably a good option.. the 1st one posted up top will be more restrictive in terms of overall asstotheback length.

A pic of a PK with the second seat on, this gives an idea how much lower it is compared to stock.

As a tall side I can tell you that won't work. Knee dents in the glove box stuff right there.

And solo seats on a P look horrible.

Thanks for all the feedback! Nerd emoticon
Alright, well I may need to check one out and sit on them both to get a better feel for things, it will we fairly easy to find someone with an
Ancilotti style seat but probably fairly difficult to find someone rocking the lower profile one.

Although, would it be more of an issue (or less of one) with long legs and a lower-profile seat? I wonder how much height difference there is with that second seat I posted and the stock one. Maybe 1"-1.5" drop?

In my opinion no.

I'm not a sketch artist but, if you take the distance from hip to knee(which is really what this topic is about)and the distance from hip to ground(lower seat)............then theoretically that knee distance is not gonna change whether your ass hieght is 4" higher or lower.

I'm no engineer but that's my story and I'm stickin with it.

I'm 5'5" 120lbs and love things flat black...

I ride on a Corsa Lo-Profile Seat on my P series, and think it is a bitch riding 2UP.
Maybe I need to find some smaller women...
