The box, although hard to find that particular one, is gonna have to go. Sell it. It is a good box but you'll hate it.

You have to take it off anyway to clean and sort out the rack.

It looks like all the bits are there. And you're lucky cause the seam to the bracket that goes under the seat looks to be decent.

Clean it up with some steel wool and simple green. And put it on. It'll never clean up perfect cause of pitting but..........

Or sell both the box and rack separately and make a couple hundred.

Find out the make of the box. Is there a tag or name on it?

Just as I thought. It was an 80's thing. With a little reserch I found that they came in two sizes. A big one for big bikes and a small one for small bikes.

You of course have a small one.

Might be worth it to clean it up and sell it.

I would try to sell the box, and be happy with $20 for it.

Then have to rack and all the parts, blasted, weld if need be, and then powder coated matte black. cheap, and would look great. I would think re-chroming would be more expensive than just finding another BBQ in better shape. good luck

I have the box in white, but not with the fancy chrome thingy on top. It's very 80's (as is my scooter), and it's HUGE. Maybe not the prettiest, but it holds a lot of stuff, and makes errand running on my scooter a lot of fun. I just need to get a new reflector for the back (I'm missing one of the lenses).
