Can you recommend a 2 stroke oil you have been using for your vespa to mix it with gas?
Is there a brand to prefer or is there a brand to stay away from?
Thanks so much!

This one may get a lot of varied answers... so I'll just give my short 2c.
Stay away from über cheap chainsaw / yard tools stuff. I always use Motul 710 and swear by it... it's more expensive than some but worth it in my O. No splooge and never a problem! %2 every time! (premix) And here are some other suggestions.......... |

Oil is like underwear, either you like tighty-whities, silk panther print banana boats, or boxer briefs. How do you like your nuts tucked?
Seriously, this topic has been covered before. Amsoil Dominator, Motul 510 or 710 are some of the best. Personally I only use 710, but would use Amsoil Dominator if I could not get 710 or if my drug habit got out of control. 710 =

You didn't mention any particulars about your Scooter (year/make/model). Most Vespas made after 1980 and the Lambretta 75SL ' Cometa' have automatic oil metering devices with a separate oil tank. I recommend Motul 510 or 710. Consult this page for your year/make/model Vespa and pre-mix instructions. Do not take our word for it. Do your research.

This is not my information. It was taken from another site...
Depends on what you mean by a "Stella" engine. The engine as installed in the Stella is oil injected, and does not need premix (it still consumes oil, as all two strokes do, but it has a seperate oil reservoir and does the mixing itself). However LML produces a 5 port Stella style engine designed to be used as a replacement engine for classic Vespas. This one DOES require premix, as would most classic Vespas. Example here: http://www.scooterworks.com/Engine_150cc_-_5_port_NON-INJ_P3905C466.cfm I would guess that they probably put the pre-mix version of the engine in, rather than take an engine out of a Stella and then make a premix reservoir. |

I am an Si-7 guy, on the recommendation of HRA.
He likes the 710 too, but I think the SI-7 burns cleaner on my bike. |

As mentioned a "Stella" engine would be fuel injected and therefore premix would not be needed.
Is there an oil site glass on the frame below the fuel tap and choke levers? |

Sorry, the good deals are done. Too many people took advantage of the good prices and we almost sold out. Edited for this reason.

Especially at $9.97 per quart. If you buy 5 you get the 6th free. If you buy 10, you get the 11th and 12th free. It's a fantastic deal on fantastic oil while it's still around. The only problem some people have had with it is that it's clear, so it's a little more difficult to see in the sight glass than the other colored oils. http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=/item_details/Official-Vespa-2-Stroke-100--Synthetic-Oil-by-Selenia/8662 http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=/item_details/SIX-PACK-Vespa-2-Stroke-Oil-100--Synthetic/8663 http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=/item_details/12-BOTTLES-Vespa-2-Stroke-Oil-100--Synthetic/8664 If you get your order up over $100, you can even get up to $20 worth of free shipping. |

Also, I always ran Motul 800 on my high performance scooters that were not injected and loved it. My P-221 never seized once, and I attribute it to the 800 (and not running an engine cowl). The 800 is pre-mix only, though. |
