Damn, just replaced my stator and voltage regulator and one week late, boom, or rather bzzzzzzzzzzt! There goes the water pump! This is the third one and I'm at wits end. If it wasn't for Max at Scooterwest I'd be throwing in the towel. Looks like ill only be down for a week. Is this normal, three water pumps seem a bit much.

Given the total lack of dealer support here I am seriously looking at alternatives.

Talk me out of it!
Love the Gt 200 but......?..M

First one less than 300 km replaced on warranty, second one 3000 km. always used factory approved coolant... Seems the pins on the stator flywheel spin off and do a real number on the pump fan!

It must br something else causing the water pumps to go out.

I have two GT's with a total of 75,000 miles on them. They have the original pumps, still working fine.

I agree. The oem original going tits up meh, take it with a grain of salt, shit happens.

The next one in 3 k klicks I would start scratching my head.

The 3rd one I would be defiantly looking for the cause, This ain't right somehow, way or fashion.

I am guessing that the three drive pins on the flywheel become loose and then shear off. Talking with Max at Scooterwest it seems this is not totally unknown, so this time I will be certain to have the shop use blue locktite on them.

Could it be that the bird world condition of our roads is rattling it loose....they did rattle the posts right of my Motobatt battery.
